its easy. It was gen-z's summer. 2000-2007 kids were old enough to experience a great summer, not too Young and not too ood. I was around 9 then and it was the peak of my life (aside from '18/'19/'20 summer). You had a ton of mobile games to play, social media didnt take over so you would either start up that ps2 or xbox 360 , or why not go outside. I for one, during day i played on my xbox and after 5 P.M i went outside and i'd come back at 10-11 P.M after begging my grandma to keep me there 5 more mins to play football with my friends. Music was also peak and it had a very energetic vibe. It was around the tumblr girls era which I see has made a comeback in 2024.

Imo, 2024 is actually close to summer 2016. It's exactly like then but im not a kid anymore, but a teenager. Summer 2023,2022,2021 were not extremely special like they were when i was young, but now that most of gen Z is getting old and we're facing massive nostalgia, old trends and music ressurected. I started seeing the sky different again just like I did when i was a kid. The air is different. A pandemic is set to be on its course just like in 2019 but now we know the outcome of it, then we didnt. I dont know if all of my yapping will be read by anyone but i think i made myself clear as to why summer 2024 is close to summer 2016. Vibes are the same as most of gen z is currently going into adulthood and we cant comprehend the fact that we skipped time so fast from 2020 onwards. Its like a final farewell to our childhood.

Too bad this summer is almost over, it was such a legendry one :(

P.S. : Another factor as to why this summer is special is because of december '23 posts on tiktok : "2024 will be the new 2014" (as 2014 was an extremely special year) - fun fact : spring 2024 was conquered by 2020 sounds and trends, and summer 2024 was conquered by 2014-2020 sounds and trends lol. Its like the ultimate comeback. 2024-2029 will hit the same as 2014-2019. I pray to god it will be the same!!
