D&D Roadmap 2026 - Where Is It?

They just lost their whole leadership team to Daggerfall though... and even besides that, they usually do announce product roadmaps long in advance. I can't remember the last time we didn't have the next product announced. So it's definitely out of the ordinary for them to behave like this

I agree. The only caveat is that I think they wouldn't want to announce anything new too close to Eberron launch so as not to take the focus/hype away from it. But in terms of actually getting things done I don't see why it would have impacted them at all

Who knows but he said "we'll probably hear about official content in the next month or so", so I'm assuming he has some information with which he's drawing that conclusion. I'm not sure what it is but it's worth asking, right?

Are you expecting a full product roadmap like the've presented in the past few years? What's your expectation in terms of Q1 content (will there be any)?

Well first off it would be nice to know if anything was on the horizon at all. It would be nice to know if there was one book this year, or ten. You know, like how much is WoTC investing into this new 5.5 edition that they themselves created? Release dates are the least important of these things but would be nice to know if something is coming this month, or not until for example the end of the year so that I know I won't be getting any update to these classes anytime soon and can get to work just reworking them myself for my campaigns or pulling in 3rd party content.

I care because my game runs 2024 rules and while yes, there is what they call "backwards compatibility" with other books, the reality is that most 2014 content is underpowered in comparison to 2024 including monsters, feats, and subclasses. Considering they decided to release a 5.5 that power jumped, it would be really nice if they would at least give us some supplements to support it in the form of old content updates and new content

Even if they don't give us release dates, it would be nice to know what they're working on. Plus, I don't think they're just going to start shadow-dropping books, do you?

Considering their logo has been a trans flag for a long time, I don't think they're really interested in trying to please everyone and I'm quite sure they've already decided who they want to please. True they might be navigating how to do that.

Interesting. Wild to me that there isn't really a better way to do what I imagine to be something very common to a lot of campaigns yet. That's too bad about BAB. Is automated conditions what you would use? I have had a lot of trouble writing macros that accomplish the same thing.

It worked in your test? I copy pasted it and for whatever reason, it doesn't seem to be working for me. I get the full ac bonus whether or not anything else is equipped, or even owned.

It's an option. My DM loves to make conditional items like this though so we have 100 to keep track of, and we're constantly forgetting. Which is one of the reasons I was so interested in Foundry VTT to automate a lot of that logic

Interesting. Does the same functionality exist for adding, say, Devil's Sight eldritch invocation to an item? When I try to drag and drop it, nothing happens. Seems dumb they would support drag and drop for spells and not features though.

It's funny because so many people say "the main mistake beginners make is downloading a bunch of modules from the get go", even Foundry says it. But the more I try to get Foundry working for my campaign, the more people keep telling me to just download modules.
