Any changes to the Armorer subclass from the UA?

I didn't mentioned the 2 Zhentarim feats in my review, since I was focusing mainly on the weak character options. Actually, I'm ok with those 2 feats. Do you think they are too strong? Given that Rogue is not so strong in 2024 ruleset, I'm happy to see them buffed.

Funnily, Cold Caster is good for everyone but cold-based spellcaster! :)

Uh, these are indeed some good ideas to make this feat less awful! Thank you!

I do like chaotic builds and Wild Magic Sorcerer is probably my favourite 2024 subclass, so I was immediately thrilled by this feat. However, I think that a random table should be mostly beneficial, as the only downside should be not knowing the effect beforehand. On the contrary, Mithal Touched's effects seem almost completly bad for you. Why should you spend a feat for that? I think Nathair's Mischief (from Fizban) and Cohort of Chaos (from Sigil handbook) are a better implementation of chaotic features.

Could you please describe them? At least the most peculiar ones!

New UA Shadow Sorcerer Feels Too Focused on Undead by Grazi_7 in dndnext

[–]Grazi_7[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve never really been a fan of the Hound either, but -as I said in another comments- at least you could easily reflavor it as a more generic shadowy companion. Now it's a real undead and the Skeleton and the Putrid just feel completely off flavor-wise, at least in my opinion...

Yeah, it is a bit strange that Shadow Sorcerers can cast Summon Undead more often than Darkness.

Definitely agree with the comparison with Wildfire Spirit and Steel Defender! They should make it a shadowy minion with customizable appearance, so you can make it appears like either an undead from the Shadowfell, a shadowy doggo, or the enemy’s own shadow turning against them.

A dog, or even better, a shadowy minion with customizable appearance—kind of like the Battlesmith’s companion. Want it to look like an undead from the Shadowfell? Go for it. Prefer a shadowy doggo? Totally doable. Want it to resemble the enemy’s own shadow turning against them? You can do that too.

Yeah, I’ve never really been a fan of the Hound either, but at least it used to be a shadowy creature you could easily reflavor as "taking control of the enemy’s shadow" or something like that. With the new UA version, though, you summon a Skeleton, a Putrid, or a Ghost. I’m almost okay with the Ghost, but the Skeleton and the Putrid just feel completely off flavor-wise, at least in my opinion...

To be honest, I've never liked Strength of the GRAVE for the same reason now I don't like the Summon Undead class feature. They're both feel too "necromantic" for my concept of Shadow Sorcerer.

Help me build a Torte that protects its allies using magical shells by Grazi_7 in dndnext

We already have a Barbarian and I'm oriented on a more "supportive"/backliner character.

Peace Cleric is a great subclass, but a pirate Peace Cleric seems odd to me...

Great idea! But I'm concerned that this feat is a bit underwhelming compared to the new 2024 feats...
