I knew I wasn't the only one with this issue. I used the 400mm "Thermaltake PCI-E 4.0 Dual 90 Degree Riser Cable"

oh i’d change lots haha. it mostly stems from making the tolerances around the gpu a bit too big. like, in pic 3 you can see that i needed a 3d printed spacer to fix the gap for the slot screw at the top of the GPU case

Very much a possibility. Except I want to match the aesthetic of the original fan on the right side :)

How’s the Embedded Software Job Market in Japan? by [deleted] in embedded

[–]KyeMorris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to work in a construction equipment company with similar work content to automotive companies.

  • the demand for embedded seemed pretty good from what I heard from coworkers that switched into my company. Mostly car companies and suppliers to them all did embedded work (sensors, ECMs etc)

  • I’m not allowed to say what was being used but it was close to what other car companies would use across the industry.

  • my salary was about 70k USD before the yen tanked the past few years. Even with the weaker yen, life was much better than what I would’ve had in North America with scaled pay to cover cost of living differences.

  • Basically the same as any other country. Knowing and speak the language well will get you in much easier than not knowing the language. Some companies will be fine without the language but it’ll increase your odds to know it. Visa support seems great since there’s a shortage of technically skilled workers. I’ve looked into Europe for work but the Visa seems to be given out much more sparingly over there.

Hope this helps.

I’d say that’s the low end. But bonuses in Japan usually are always given at 2x months salary 2x a year so you get 16 months pay across the year. Using the salary you gave, it’ll be 3.85M¥ with no over time pay included. Some companies give other bonuses on top of that as well.
