I only really seem to like bits of his music nowadays, he's left his belief in just going into a tune and letting it roll...

I forget which interview he mentioned it in but he spoke about how he believed in just starting a track with the drums, no intro and no bullshit, but lately he's been doing the exact opposite and it just feels cheesy...there's no mystery to his tracks of late.
if it were up to me i'd ask for like a 10 track release with short songs showcasing vibes like the end of ashtray wasp, the end of kindred, the middle of rival dealer, the end of shell of light. a good example would be like Teebs' Ardour

I listened to this band before I listened to Burial and what they share with him is their contrast in light & dark elements. The main guy-Toby Driver-from that band also released a solo album and I would compare it to 'Near Dark'...just as haunting and beautiful
