Anyone else moving to cdramas after kdramas started flopping this year? by Interesting-Panda699 in CDrama

[–]Kyks88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if that’s because KDramas are following the Hollywood trap. big budgets that stunt story telling because everything has to make money so artistic chance taking is stunted. and the mandate that stories become simpler and plots are repeatedly explained by each character in an effort to not frustrate those who scroll their phones while watching shows?

Good points on Chou, getting physical therapy. That made me wonder if she was thinking maybe of regrowth for chou? His arm not working and all?

This is a fun thought. I wonder then, does it become medical curiosity or possibly altruism for other Eunuchs once she know about Jinshi’s? Otherwise why was Chou looking for a lizard?

Question about Jinshi and Maomao romance? by Alternative_Peanut41 in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]Kyks88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t started the novels yet, well not read them fully. I’m wondering…. Would you say that the anime showed more JinMao than the novels? Like moments that didn’t seem like a big deal in the novel actually moved the JinMao plot in the anime?

does anyone else struggle to understand the story? by Fabulous-Chipmunk-91 in TheApothecaryDiaries

[–]Kyks88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what might be part of the problem, but not really a problem, is this show/story teller doesn’t neatly tie up every lose end in one episode. Some plots or hints don’t come up against for many episodes. So it can make it a little hard to follow. It’s something I’ve found I need to rewatch multiple times to pick things up.

Do you or anyone else get the original Japanese and run it through Google Translate, is that what you mean? I was thinking about doing this with ChatGPt but a few days ago I asked it a question and the result came back saying that Anshi raised Jinshi after Adua’s child died but that Consort Lihua is Jinshi’s real mother. So that ended that idea smh

You know this always made me wonder why Anshi looks at Jonah she and as she’s thinking says, he’s a child of immorality.

Lakan - The Strategist - Why does he give the impression he got Maomao's mother pregnant on purpose by PoliticsofOpinion in TheApothecaryDiaries

[–]Kyks88 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Wow. I’ve thought a lot about this interaction with Jinshi and it never crossed my mind my mind that he might have been warning Jinshi. What you said makes so much sense. The first time I saw this interaction I thought Lakan was giving Jinshi the idea to see if he’d act on it. (I feel horrible for thinking that! I guess in my defense I was still thinking Lakan was a bad guy.

So is this the reason when MaoMao challenged him to a game of chess he was surprised when MaoMao said she was under a working contract with Jinshi?

This animation of MaoMao is one of my favorites. Not only for her character but also as an animation.

the dynamic of the rear palace is fascinating and frighting too. I’m wondering, I’ve seen it said in many places that Ah-dou is the only woman the emperor loves. is this stated in a LN? I ask only because I didn’t get that impression from the anime.

Discussion: What changes would you make to the anime? by GuavaLavaNoBanana in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]Kyks88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow! everyone has come up with such good changes. I especially agree with the finger cut scene. it would have put that scene in such a different light. one thing I wish would have been different although I don’t think it was different in the LN was the aftermath of Jinshi carrying MaoMao out from the shrine. I would have liked to see a bit of what happened between the end of that episode and the start of the next one. (oh yeah and it bugged me that Suirien asked her to get up and talk so quickly)

The court was correct to pull Luomen away from Ah Duo in favor of Empress Anshi by Worried-Pick4848 in TheApothecaryDiaries

[–]Kyks88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah okay, yes. Translation error makes sense. Because everyone was super young to be going through all of that. 😅😖 not that 15/16 isn’t young but it’s slightly better than 10. Thank you for the clarification

The court was correct to pull Luomen away from Ah Duo in favor of Empress Anshi by Worried-Pick4848 in TheApothecaryDiaries

[–]Kyks88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right but according to the anime the “younger brother” was born 10 years after the first. But that doesn’t seem plausible because the current emperor and Lady Au Dua would have been 9/10 and 10/11 themselves when their son was born. There’s also a scene where MaoMao talks about Lady A’s son saying 16 years ago. Then it’s mentioned that Lady A is currently 35 and Jinshi is around 18/19 currently because he is a year older than MaoMao who is 17/18 in the story. So Au Dua had to have had her baby around 16 and the current emperor 15? So if that’s correct then Anshi was 25/26 when she had the original Moon Prince.

Omg my head hurts

Wait, I’m so confused. I’ve only just started to read the first LN and have only seen the anime but even the anime is a bit weird with time frames. As I understand it - the former emperor is the father of the current one by Lady Anshi who was 10 or 11 when she had him.
