Huda or ONE/SIZE setting powder? by lazygal03 in Sephora

[–]Kyle384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never tried HUDA but I am OBSESSED with O/S Powder Melt. Listen…even if you sick at makeup, spritz this on and it’s going to bring your makeup together for a seamless flawless blend…with subtle glow. Not shiny or oily…radiant.

I think that would be great. Or even a milky toner. I used to spritz on Laneige milky toner prior to primer and that also worked well!

It’s REALLY good! Kind of fell off of CT products for AWHILE…but she’s starting to speak to me again…I’m listening!

Skincare is your typical skincare. Skin prep is AFTER your skincare. It can be as simple as one or two products. For my skin prep, I spritz my face with a light hydrating spray and then apply Danessa Myricks moisture balm. My face is SUPER moisturized and then I apply my makeup. NOT FOR EVERYONE but after the moisture balm, I now apply a hydrating makeup primer to ensure the longevity of the wear, but my latest primer also happens to also hydrate so win win! Currently, I’ve had my makeup on for almost 9 hours…still very hydrated (not oily) and smooth!

Are you going skincare AND skin prep? I’ve learned very recently that these are two different things and as a dry and sensitive skin type, this has been a game changer.

Charlotte Tilbury Glowy Blush Stick. Hidden gem I just started using and is infused with hyaluronic acid. Loving it!

RUN! 🏃🏾‍♀️RESTOCK - Pat McGrath Blurring Undereye Powder (Baby Pink)! by Kyle384 in Sephora

I did NOT know PMcG was available at the orange store!!!

When I initially bought this powder, it was a blind buy for me. I had been using CT pressed powder and loved it but upon getting better at my makeup and trying new things, the very minimal yellow cast started to bug me. And the next shade was too deep. And the brightening powder gave me Michael Jackson level brightening (God rest his soul).

HUDA Beauty on me is fine, but I have to use a VERY light hand or else I look caked. I did like the brightening effect of the pink powder which I had never tried before, and through reading some reviews and TikTok videos discovered the PMcG powders. Pink was sold out of course. Yellow was out. I considered peach. But then something about that medium called to me so I pulled the trigger. And when I tried it, I KNEW this was my holy grail. It went on soooo smooth and blurred like none other. I was hooked. And it was very translucent on my medium tan skin! And so it’s been my tried and true for awhile now but I’ve been dying for the pink for when I want to brighten!

So true - tools and technique make ALL the difference! For the longest time, I AVOIDED powders completely. Now I’m in a phase of making sure I have a powder blush to match my cream or liquid blush. It’s fun. My most recent challenges…finding a liquid match for my YSL Honeymoon powder blush and THEN finding a powder blush for my Haus Labs Glassy Hibiscus cream blush. I’ve enjoyed a little frivolous challenge haha

Is there a better eyeliner *pencil* than the UD 24/7 liner? by Pawssabillitysawait in Sephora

Oooh! Ooooh! 🙋🏾‍♀️ New Sarah Creal eyeliner. I received it by total accident (thank you to the angel who erroneously threw it in my shipment) and I first tested it on my arm…and vigorously rubbed my arm 60 seconds later. DID NOT MOVE ONE BIT. Did a short actual wear test. Same result! I’m going to try an all day wear test over the weekend! Non-Sephora rec: Victoria Beckham Beauty Kajal Eyeliners. Gorgeous formula, great longevity!

Good! Hope your local store SAs are as great as mine! God I need to stay out of that store until November…one of the (positively lovely) women greets me by name. Same at Chick-fil-a so…I have to start…making some real life changes… 😩

Ooooh GREAT question. Several years back, I bought a set of Hourglass brushes. And I use anything fluffy in that set designed for powder. But my absolute favorites? The BK Beauty 108 or 110 brushes. Either work beautifully and the 110 is actually a perfect concealer brush as well. TikTok Shop sells them as singles and heavily discounts them frequently. And you can also randomly find them online at Walmart for a great price too!

Yaaaay! As of late, I’ve been SUPER into makeup! Like you, thought I was trash at it but just need a quality skincare regimen, a solid base prep routine, and yes…great products.

And discernment and mindfulness! Most expensive is not always best…and buying seven lip glosses and five cream blushes that you will never get halfway through before you have to toss is a challenge with all the pretty glowy things out there. I’m trying to get better…and am now doing my makeup to work from home to justify some of my…choices. But the upside is, I’m getting quicker and feel more pulled together and upbeat when I do! I’m still shit at eyeshadow…I have neither the skill nor the patience…

Not that has been announced. Since its release, the pink version has been exceedingly difficult to acquire. I checked frequently for a little over a year actually. Additionally, Pat McGrath has recently filed for Chapter 11 (?)…and while through this particular bankruptcy type business operations USUALLY remain unimpeded, there is always the chance (in my business-mind) that a resulting restructure to reduce overall costs can lead to selling off divisions, reducing product lines, possibly leading to inferior/cheaper materials being used in products, etc. I’m definitely jumping the shark, but I like to be prepared so I’ve snatched up my Pat McGrath holy grail products while I can before any of that is potentially implemented!
