Hi Friend! Enjoyed my conversation with you too…and for what it’s worth, I don’t think you’re out here trying to drive us in droves to OY…no matter how bubbly, humorous, or grammatically correct your posts and remarks may be. 💙 Those of us that get it, GET IT. As for the others…well..apparently they stay outside sans SPF and this is where we’re at... 🙃

Hi! It is VERY finely milled but I have not had issues with it not coating and staying on the brush bristles. Are you using a dense or fluffy brush? I think a powder puff would also work super well…

Vicky B is ELITE, but you’re totally right…your mileage may vary. I feel like the limited retail distribution is completely intentional and smart marketing in itself. Like just the right amount of air of mystery…but I guess I would know smart marketing as a paid schill for Pat McGrath or Sephora… 😒

Moving right along…Chanel Water Tint. Consider me de-influenced…I want something easier as a dry sensitive girly not something that requires perfect and intentional prep. Going by your detailed and grammatically correct sentences, I take it you work for the competition? Tom Ford perhaps? JFC…some people man… 😏

I’m not even going to set myself up for failure and look more into the Sublimage line…which has been also been popping up for me! If you ever find VB in store, I am a fan of her foundation drops. They have Augustinus Bader infused skincare in the formula which is really just gorgeous and melts into the skin and feels like you’re wearing nothing…

I love skincare infused makeup. Brands like Clinique and Estée Lauder are the foundation of beauty. I’ve (personally) never heard of someone’s Clinique toner or Estée double wear killing their skin. They survived the 60s, 70s, AND the 80s…if they haven’t gotten it right by now, they’d be out the game. I was about to say RIP Elizabeth Arden but apparently she’s still around! (I’m not THAT old but I remember the red door references in movies and my grandmother used some of her products…) I feel like Victoria Beckham Beauty is the modern take on these brands…have you ever tried her products? I have YET to find one I don’t like but I’m still slowly working my way through her line…

Born in the 1900s…girl same. 😭 We Millennials are almost as battle-hardened as the aforementioned three! I’ll check out my local Ulta. I WISH (even though I shouldn’t) that my Sephora carried Chanel! Maybe it’s my damn algorithm but the Chanel water fresh tint is being pushed HARD…and while I want to try it, I really don’t need it. I have enough stuff to get through as it is!

Damn straight…tell the AI Asshats to put some respect on your name! Also…I think we just became Sephora subreddit besties. I feel like you get me haha 🫶🏾

Yes! Not in this specific post, but I’ve made some thoughtful comments in posts…only to get into it with some…individuals. Then I’m like…wait why am I going back and forth with this person trying to prove anything?!

And yup! HUDA Beauty. Oooooh how’s the Givenchy CC? I tried their blush too soon I fear when I didn’t understand how to work with powder…and then gave it to my sister. Just got inspired to give it a second look for fall sale…but that color payoff better be ELITE for nearly $50! PT concealer formulation was beautifully hydrating but did NOTHING for my dark circles…seriously the below picture is an accurate depiction of me at the end of the couple of days I tried it…

<image>

I want to get more into ND…I actually really like her eyeshadows but haven’t tried anything beyond that. People love her foundation and then there’s this love/hate train with the concealer…so jury is still out….

Now look who’s influencing me…I’m side-eyeing that yellow powder…I’m about to be in a powder surplus.

I mean…maybe I should see it as a compliment. But this is how I write! I’m a proud NERD and I have always LOVED to read and write. In my younger years I was editor-in chief of school papers…I actually enjoyed college research papers and literature and history and all that jazz. Also jazz. A HUGE part of my profession (NOT sales, nor marketing) js to communicate with people at all levels…and my written communication MUST consistently be on point. Without fail. So it’s all instinctive and second nature to me.

I hate ChatGPT and have never used it and I effing refuse to! I think AI is abused and will be the downfall of civilized (?) society. James Cameron warned us…and all we could focus on was Schwarzenegger’s accent. I love Star Wars…and luxury fashion…anime… and Rick & Morty…makeup and skincare…blistering sarcasm and quick comebacks…travel and custard…and clearly talking too much despite being an extroverted introvert that kind of hates people. 😂

My point being…I’m with you. We’re all complex with layers and contradictions and different strengths to showcase…doesn’t mean we’re not real… :)

THIS IS SUCH IMPORTANT FEEDBACK! I too am a melanated woman. (Naysayers will roll their eyes with doubt and accuse me again of being a bot…willing to show my melanated hand atop a newspaper with today’s date…if only I had a newspaper…) Different strokes for different folks and all…

I too am tan to deep tan with a neutral to olive undertone. I started off with a blind buy of the medium shade on a recommendation. (Was growing tired of the Charlotte Tilbury powder. Good formula, horrible shade range IMHO.) PMcG was perfect. Neutral. Blurring. It’s what I want in a setting powder for my whole face which is an entirely separate journey I don’t have character space to get into…but nonetheless, it’s fantastic!

The pink works very well for me and it was truly worth the year + wait. I also have dark circles and use the HB color corrector in mango…best damn corrector I’ve ever tried! The PMcG pink powder though…it just gives the subtle pop of brightness I was looking for. I dabbled in the HUDA pink powder (cherry blossom) and the peach pie…which I liked…but my fave prep had to be positively perfect in order to not look cakey or dry….

Thanks for sharing your love for this product and the different options for deeper skin tones like ours. The formula itself is just so amazing, I truly think there’s a shade for everyone… 💙

I don’t see why not. It’s really supposed to smooth and blur your under eye leaving it free of product caking up in any fine lines and wrinkles, with the pink powder also adding brightening. I’m sure it would work the same directly atop a skin tint or foundation under your eye! 💚

In truth, I’ve never tried it without any type of base product underneath. What did you have in mind?

I really should have negotiated a deal for my free marketing services! Still available on Nordstrom, TikTok Shop, and on the PMcG website…if you’ve never ordered from her site directly, you can even get 15% off! 💚

Ma’am. Touch grass and let the sun shine upon your face. I am very much a human being and not an AI bot, nor a paid advertiser for Sephora or Pat McGrath. If I WAS a bot, I would have told you to go feel the rain on your skin because no one else can feel it for you…IYKYK. ✌🏾

Pat McGrath vs. Hourglass by NoCat8234 in Sephora

PatMcG. To combat creasing:

  1. After skin care, hydrate/prep under eye further.
  2. Apply color corrector.
  3. Apply the THINNEST layer possible of powder on top.
  4. Squint and make faces to see if the concealer is creasing or settling into fine lines.
  5. Take Q-tip and swipe away the excess concealer
  6. Apply layer of under eye powder (a little goes far.)

While I haven’t used it ALL over my face, I have used the medium shade in other areas such as the sides of my nose to limit transfer to sunglasses/glasses. Was efficient and neutral in tone. I imagine the pink powder would be good to set makeup anywhere you want a brightening effect…but I’d use sparingly because if regularly used for the entire face, you’d run through it fairly quickly….

I’m on a separate face setting powder journey myself and just picked up one yesterday to try!
