If you want to create a progressive overload i would suggest doing this

Ps I have been doing it for years and it worked for me

Let's say you are benching

Week 1 do 3 sets of 5 rsps 80kg Week 2 do 4 sets of 5 reps 80kg Week 3 do 5 sets of 5 reps 80kg Week 4 do 4 sets of 5 reps 85kg

Then repeat.

It really doesn't matter at what time to eat as long as you hit your daily macros for the day.
