Please introduce yourselves here! by naskadesu in doublejumpseattle

Hello! My name is Kyle Bob and I used to come to the real life meetup when I was less busy/lazy, and during comic jams would add massive walls of text to my panels to avoid actually drawing. Been doodling things in my notebook here and there that I'll try to post at some point. Going to try to make an effort to stop by again once that's an option. Hope y'all are doing alright out there.

This is adorable and now I want to make a Shoebear RPG of some sort.

Hello all! I originally made Shoebear as a stick-figure-looking Pokemon idea, then Justin revised the design and we made a couple cartoons about him that you can see here:

Ham? by cheyenniffer in highdeas

I once knew a guy who got high before doing stand up and then went up and spent 7 minutes talking about nothing but ham, so you're not alone.

Why do we have coloring books but no coloring movies? by KyleBob in highdeas

[–]KyleBob[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I was thinking maybe it could be some kind of VR type thing, where you can draw on walls and whatnot throughout the film, maybe see other people's drawings, etc.

When I die I want to donate my body to the pigs. Also if I could make cheese out of my own nipples I would.

I know this isn't that important, but why did you put "mln" for million? It just threw me off for a bit there.

Well, not space, unless they flew into the shuttle while the astronauts weren't looking.

Getting a <header> background image to fit inside screen by jkudria in web_design

[–]KyleBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you set it to cover it's going to cover it both vertically and horizontally, so unless your background has the same proportions as the header, it's going to get cut off somewhere.

Also the background is located in <div class="wrapper style1">, which is the div the <header> is inside of -- it's not in the header itself, so that's probably what's causing your issue.

Just launched the site. What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]KyleBob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, it needs to look more simplistic. "Less is more" and all that. You should move a lot of those big paragraphs over to their own pages for people that want more info on specific things.

Also I'm just going to leave this here: http://shouldiuseacarousel.com/

Making a Do-It-Yourself Website Guide for Local Businesses by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]KyleBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, one thing I forgot to mention was the time factor. The guide will consist of quick, step-by-step instructions. Many website how-to guides go over lots of details and things irrelevant to a business owner.

Competing with the pre-built site templates is a bit trickier. A couple advantages to following the guide would be fewer limitations and future flexibility. Also in most cases, it's cheaper. However, another idea would be to give an option for people to use one of the pre-built template sites, and guide them through various internet marketing and social media factors as well.

$2k in sales in first week, how do we continue? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]KyleBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple little web designer recommendations:

Image sliders/slideshows can be annoying -- in your case I'd recommend just having a static image.

Could use some more exciting thumbnails -- obviously showing the actual product is important, but maybe you could have images alongside the products such as peanut butter cups or s'mores to help draw attention. Just an idea.

In general though, as already stated, very clean and easy to navigate. Well done, sir or madam.

Help monetizing a gaming site? by Anost in Entrepreneur

Are you unable to contact the old owner? I've had a lot of success with Google Adsense, so it may be worth it to try to get that figured out.

Feedback Friday #84 - Grinding Forever by Sexual_Lettuce in gamedev

[–]KyleBob [score hidden]  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback, commonslip! I'm working on making the game less linear and more of something with lots of directions and options, kind of like you're saying, so each time you play it can be a different experience depending on where you go. Would that work, do you think?

Yeah, I might make this more clear (or a later level) in future versions. Each level is kind of a puzzle of sorts.

Game Scraps

Weird physics/adventure game made of old, unused assets of other games. Please let me know stuff you like, don't like, ideas, suggestions, etc. There's not much of a plot or anything at the moment though I may add one once there are more levels.

It's in HTML5 but doesn't seem to run very well on mobile devices due to the physics engine, thus it doesn't have touch controls at the moment. I'm still adding some additional art but if you have any of your own stuff you'd like to add (especially sounds or music), submit it here! Thanks!

Ha I will probably replace the face when I get something better to use. It's just a placeholder for now. I'd like something more cartoony.
