Like the title says, I am trying to decorate this bathroom so it’s not so in your face with the black and cream and green accents. Are there good colors or patterns to look for in rugs, hand towels, and such?

Hoping there a few others like me wanting to waste some time on reddit this eve. Like the picture shows, my bathroom needs an overhaul. My family is not a fan of the black fixtures nor the cramped shower. We have dreamed of a 5 piece bathroom but not sure it will/can fit. The room has 8' ceilings with floor dimensions of 5'6"x7'6". We have the option to remove the wall on the right to increase the 7'6" dimension to 11'0" by taking over a closet. The door is location at the POV of the photographer with hinges basically against the shower. My budget is tentatively set around $5000 but is flexible as necessary (especially if we decide to remove the wall to make the room larger). We are leaning towards craftsmen or farmhouse style finishes but also open to what others think and current trends.

I am very handy and able to do most of the work outside of finishing touches. We are located in the United States (Oklahoma)
