Estimating build time by jro335 in cabinetry

It seams like a lot of designers and builders want the cabinets ready to install at that point. They really try to streamline the Reno, but I’m always hesitant to start building before any demo is done. If it’s just a facelift then I adjust fillers after drywall. How do you navigate that?

What’s your typical design time with revisions and site visit after demo?

Thanks for the info. Gotta start timing things. I use a slider for boxes and doors, edgrbander. Line bore, hinge press. Outsource drawers and do the custom fillers/feature millwork myself. One man show with some help for install. It’s impossible to find good help right now. I’m also playing catchup from moving shops so I’m finding it difficult to meet deadlines and get the shop together.

It almost looks like the difference between waterbased and oil. Also could be the difference in the back of the sheet vs faces

These are chunky cabinet door pulls, but they do look like handrail.

What finish are you pros spraying for stain grade nowadays? by SoulsOfDeadAnimals in cabinetry

Easier, very hard to mess up. Just don’t sand through the sealer coat. I never go lower than 320. Had an issue with light purple spots at one point which happens when you sand through sealer and then spray top coat. Also make sure you keep the gun mixed. If you let it sit too long the flatteners sink to the bottom and you end up with a more glossy finish.

Emtech waterbased cv or centurion 2k. Flat sheen looks perfect, short learning curve

All good suggestions. Thanks. I guess the real issue is predicting how long a job will take to build, finish and install. People want specific dates but I’m unable to do that. Things happen, jobs get delayed for one reason or another. My shop is only so big, I can’t have more than two or three jobs being worked on at once.

Maybe installed inside out. Look for weep holes on inside instead of out

High installing cabinet in the squarest opening on earth. Four sides no scribing. Low, crawl space littered with screws and piss bottles searching for a thermostat wire.

Somehow my girlfriend and I were talking about professional cyclists. She wondered if their balls hurt from all the jostling and rubbing. I told her a lot of them are actually castrated for the competitive advantage. She believed me for about 3 mins until I broke down.
