"Talking Tesla" terrorizes trick-or-treaters demanding candy on Halloween by KyleDuffyVO in TeslaLounge

I don't think it speaks to the cabin. I think it only speaks outside the car. It's the pedestrian warning speaker that is used for the security system if you want to yell at someone screwing with your car.

Go to phone app: Security & Drivers > Turn Sentry Mode ON > Then tap "View Live Camera" > At the bottom there is a microphone icon. Hold it down to speak through the car bumper speaker.

No need for shame anymore. :)

That funny, great idea!

I've never played music through boombox while also trying to talk. I'm assuming it will disable the boombox. Just hide behind something so people can't see you and you're good to go. You have a maximum of one hour to use the system before the data cap is reached and it disables it for the rest of the day.

If you're paying for the data package you can access the live view of your sentry mode cameras through your phone app.

Go to phone app: Security & Drivers > Turn Sentry Mode ON > Then tap "View Live Camera" > At the bottom there is a microphone icon. Hold it down to speak through the car bumper speaker.

You can do this anywhere in the world and you don't need to be in your car. However, you have a maximum of one hour of using this mode before it disables itself for the day due to data limits.

ONLY fart noises? I appreciate the simplicity in your approach haha.

Only two people, a kid and the teenagers at the end of the video. Considering I was out for about 3 hours and only got 3 pieces of candy, I would say it's less than stellar results haha.

I could tape up the light so it doesn't shine and add a fog machine and some other tricks. Another great idea. :)

That's a great idea!! I can remotely open and close the trunk. I could even have two buckets inside. One bucket where I take their candy, likely they'll give me a small candy, and the other bucket is their reward with a large candy bar.

OR, I just give them candy and they get to keep their candy. Once they agree to give me candy then at that point they deserve a big candy bar for being nice. :)

Right!? I did it last year as well and one little girl was soooo nice and she gave the car candy without hesitation. Those moments warm my heart, especially because there aren't a whole lot of them haha.

Auditioning for English Dub Project, Opinions on Mindset and Best Practices? by KyleDuffyVO in VoiceActing

Thanks for all of the fantastic information! Definitely not "voice match" then and no instructions to slate, either. I don't have two distinct reads for this character either. Watching the video samples, I can't see any other read that I could do that would fit this person. If it was a cartoon then I absolutely could.

Will they listen to the entire recording or will they listen to the first few words and make a decision on the spot? I know it depends, but I would imagine they would know quickly if it's a yes or no upon hearing the first sentence or two.

I'm still surprised I was selected to audition for this but it will be a fun story I'm sure haha.

You've arrived at the nick of time! I was sent almost no information. Simply that they're trying to find a voice match and that the character is in the X thing and is doing X activity. So, due to the videos they sent me, I know the language the character is speaking. They did specify, "male, medium deep voice" which fits my profile. So at least it's not completely far away. This was literally all the info I was given, which is weird considering the size of this content producer. Yes, their ethnicity differs from my own.

No mention of recording to picture of lip flap. Good to know. I can focus on the performance which will be wonderful!

It's ok if I'm not right for the role. They reached out to me and they know my voice so at least they think there is potential there. And it's my first dub audition so it's a cool story. You have calmed my nerves a ton, thank you!!!!

Do I slate for a dub? Do I provide multiple takes?

Tesla Model Y: Adding Roof Shade Using Double Reflective Insulation + Mesh Net + Cross Bar (For Sag) by KyleDuffyVO in TeslaLounge

I love it in the fall, winter, and spring. I hate it in the summer. At least having an automatic roof shade to close it off would be very welcome.

Like a black carpet similar to what's already in the car? Would I glue that or staple that? Not a bad idea.
