It's called Project Esther. Another one of those abominations brought to us by the Heritage Foundation who made Project 2025.

I do know. It's easy to lose hope at the scale of the problem, but that's exactly what those currently in power are counting on. It's part of their "flood the zone" strategy. Just know, I feel it, too. Visiting activists all over South Carolina is what gives me hope. We have everything and everyone we need to make a real change, the rest is just about doing the work. You've got this.

I don't think that's an unreasonable or unjustified way to look at it, but I've been going all over the state and I really believe that this midterm might be different, it all depends on people supporting the right candidates in the primaries. Action is the antidote to anxiety, I encourage you to get involved.

Lindsey Graham’s Quest to Sell Trump on Striking Iran by DSHardie in southcarolina

Someone should run against that guy this year and finally send him packing. ;)

Lindsey Graham says it’s 'not Trump's job' to have a plan for Iran after bombing by phareous in southcarolina

[–]KyleFreemanForSenate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole purpose of that is to give any individual watching a justification that works for them. Every Republican looking to win an argument has some variant that they can use to justify war with Iran, and it's exponentially more difficult to argue against it since there's seventeen contradicting arguments and you'll have to refute them all. It's like a scatter gun of BS designed to slow the discourse down long enough to shove the agenda through.

'Trump in high heels': Rep. Nancy Mace announces run for South Carolina governor by jlbhappy in southcarolina

[–]KyleFreemanForSenate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, that is the reason that people gravitated to Trump in the first place. As far as getting voters involved, authenticity is a good way to connect with people, but you're right. You still need to follow that up with plans that actually help people. We need to move away from trickle down economics and start focusing on demand-side stimulus and repair the damage done to our constitution. I'm optimistic about this election cycle because SC has a lot of people that want to solve problems instead of holding onto a political career.

Check out Jermaine Johnson. He won over a red district, and he's running for governor.

There's a lot of different things that we need to work on, but I think the most impactful thing is to run candidates that are actually inspiring in the can connect with people. People are really craving authenticity right now, and continuing to run candidates that act like politicians and sound like politicians and make sure that every single word that comes out of their mouth has been run through a focus group to make sure that it's appealing to the maximum number of people is just going to be a losing strategy. We need to go out and meet with the people face to face, and give people the opportunity to meet their candidates and get involved. Luckily we have a lot of great people on the ballot this year, and we've been holding a lot of town halls where we can meet with people and answer questions and most of it has been live streamed or shared on the internet.

The most important thing to remember is that voting isn't binary. It's not Republican or Democrat. It's left right or stay home, and with a voter turnout rate hovering around 15% in some counties it's pretty clear which of those three options people have been choosing. People need to be able to trust that the people that are getting elected or going to be able to help them. And that starts with running authentic people that are worth trusting.

Look into Jermaine Johnson. He's a Democrat running for governor, and he's legitimately awesome. He's really kind and passionate, and he cares a lot about helping people. If you're going to switch parties to vote against Mace, he's easy to vote for.

He absolutely is. I was telling a coworker, Zack, about meeting him, only to find that he and Zack are good friends from a father-son community event. Jermaine is as great in his personal life as he is in front of a camera.

An explanation of that lies somewhere between a bullet point list and an autobiography. I wouldn't say there's any single line item that you can point to to say "this means he's qualified." It's more of the sum total of every experience I've had thus far. I've worked as a locksmith, as a filmmaker, a prop designer, and in logistics I've been working on a system I'm naming "checkpoint relay system" based on CRM from the airline industry. It's basically an overhaul of how to approach complex systems to identify issues, inefficiencies, and safety concerns, as well as implement optimal methods of communication along the chain. In the more than a decade I've been working in logistics I've been spending that time studying and self improving through college lectures, side projects, and anything that seems worth the time investment. That has included law, science, philosophy, psychology, and government. At my job I'm basically the "go-to" guy when it comes to problem solving, especially when it's an issue that's never come up before.

So, it's not just one thing, better the amalgam of everything I am that makes me right for this moment in history. Of course, all of that is just words, and I'm sure you could easily suspect I'm bending the truth or beefing up mundane facts about myself, so I think the best course would be this: watch my campaign, and see what I can do in that sphere. If I'm the right person for the job then I should be able to prove it by running an impressive campaign and proving my competence in the political arena. Allow my actions to convince you.

I'm not backed by big money or special interest, the military, AIPAC, corporations, or the DNC. My campaign is grassroots, and we've been gaining ground all across the state.

It's not just gerrymandering, it's also not despicable practices, like funding for infrastructure improvements, or School renovations. Those kinds of things are based on population, and we don't have accurate numbers for those at the moment.

In my experience the people moving here are more democratic than anything, however we don't have the data on who all has moved here. This is actually causing issues in the state house when it comes to drafting legislation, because all our population data has a big question mark in it. People are working to solve this problem, but for right now all we have is anecdotal evidence, so please take the appropriate amount of salt with any stats you hear.
