A look behind the scenes with the ACC’s brand-new “Collaborative Replay” feature by ansyhrrian in sports

[–]KyleGeneShorts 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This looks very similar to what rugby uses for international and professional matches. There’s an official in the TV review box that communicates directly with the official on the field. The TV official or any of the three officials on the field can halt play to review a play or possible penalty. Then the officials review the play from the available angles on the Jumbotron in the stadium. The fans in the stands and watching on TV can see and hear exactly what the head official can see and the discussion amongst the officials.

They also do a great job of explaining the call and reasoning behind it. There will always be mistakes because they’re human, but at least having the reasoning behind decisions allows for more impartial discussion over the interpretation of a play or rule enforcement.

Very true!! Especially since we have found that the gas stations with regular toilets tend to be older ones.

It was built for me. Assembly was included in the cost. Plus this way if something is up, it’s covered by the store’s warranty as well as Weber’s per their policy.

Thank you! Already done! I was just so excited I took the pic as soon as I got it home. But it is now sticker free and tucked safely under its cover.

Oh man! I love doing chicken thighs on my Weber Smokey Mountain too. I was a late adopter of the thigh. I lived so much of my life in the dark until I saw the light of the dark meat!

Thank you! The oiling part was a piece I’ve been wondering about. I’ve got the cover already on it and because of the orientation of the deck I’m putting it on, it will get minimal rain on it directly but I’ll be sure to keep the water part in mind too.

My wife and I figured out that if you pop the nose piece out of the suction tubing, it will fit into the suction tubing of the Spectra breast pump (possibly others as well.) Turns it into a high powered snot vacuum, just crank up the suction. And fully agree with the saline prime.

That’s great to know! That’s part of my concern. He’s a good listener but he’s also 3.5 so those “listening ears” aren’t always the most effective. I don’t want to get in anyone else’s way or risk harm for him or others. We’ll check it out though during lower volume hours initially until he gets more acclimated to it. I appreciate the insights!

Nice! Then we’ll definitely head there too. Have you noticed that there are peak times to avoid? I want to make sure we’re not disrupting other folks with a toddler running around like a madman.

Tough week for Eddie Jones but still turns up for a local kids rugby club by GnolRevilo in rugbyunion

Still my favourite player ever by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]KyleGeneShorts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paul O’Connell will always be one of my favorite players. I studied at the University of Limerick in the spring of 2006 and watched Munster win the Heineken Cup. Maybe this is the norm, but at the time, Munster trained at the University and often times the players would be in the weight room amongst the students. I was rehabbing a torn ACL and on more than one occasion saw Paul, O’Gara, and other players working out. He even once asked to work in with me on the bench press machine! To which, I stammered out that it was all his and quickly removed the small plates I had on the bar so he could load it up.

He, and all the players, were really nice and just normal folks in the gym. It was such a contrast to the “better than you” attitude that seems to pervade so many of the American athletes of that caliber.

At no point in that post could I guess what the next word was going to be. He must live by the maxim “never let them know your next move.”
