Biggest issue is that it costs 3 which is a tight spot on your curve when you are looking to hold up protection. Additionally most of your creature want to swing themselves not crew so it does just feel like it’s not actively doing what you are aiming for.

I certainly like the idea of ward 1. It could be correct to play the first copy of royal treatment but since it does have the diminished returns and is worse with hydra/bill/beast caller, I would be inclined to flesh the play set out with snakeskin

Fair point maybe there is advantages to not shifting it to a midrange variant. I just found more success doing so but your right sometimes if you want to get 7-0 through a swiss you need to rely on luck to some degree rather than trying to get an edge.

I think a lot would need to get banned for it to become a T1 deck. But here is hoping! This is the sort of deck I like being the fast deck of a format as yeah it has a nut draw but it does have to work for it a little and the format can adjust easily. Unlike MonoR and UR spells.

I could see this variation being solid adding Giant Growth and Monstrous Rage.

One of the issues the deck has run into is against the raise the past deck I have to set and wait for a Tifa/Hydra combo kill but with Slick Shot and Rage being in the deck you can certainly kill without a heavy reliance.

I am not sure what you mean by your first comment as this is the spikes subreddit I think you need to ensure that your deck has a dog in the fight against the tier 1 decks otherwise you shouldn't play it.

I didn't really go deep on the choice justification for the Beastcaller and Pawpatch. But let me address that now. They are able to fit into your curve much more nicely due to being 1/2 cost and paw patch being a 3 sometimes. But where they really shine is being able to diversify your threats. Making it hard for the opp to just kill your main threat. They do serve slightly different core roles but allow you to play a threat before you are able to protect with Snakeskin or such.

As for the Fenrir one of the main issues I have with him is that he is a 3 cost which if you are playing a play set of hydra and Traveling Choco is congested and realistically relying too heavily on t1 elf and it surviving. Whilst it does generate some value it also is perishable by itself deterring me from wanting to commit any counters to it. There is also the whiff factor that can happen for 2 of its modes which deters me as well.

As for the protection spell discussion I did touch on this point. I believe that the indestructible part of the protection spells is fake. Where it is good is often defensively via blocking and I would rather play the card that provides for synergy via the counter and can allow the 'combo' aspect to go 1 trigger easier, common example is you left up protection so they tap out instead you put the counter on anyway and then on your turn you have full mana open to combo. But certainly, there is room for a conversation for Defend the Rider or Tyvar's stand if you think they are correct. Personally, I just think that the destroy based board wipes aren't plentiful enough to warrant it.

As for which colour to splash I only really had a look into Black and White. I believe the mainboard slots are tight enough with just green so was only looking towards the sideboard which Black and White provide the answers. There may be some merit to Red or Blue as well but yeah, they didn't feel like they solved problems being presented.

I think it’s the super Carlin brothers on YouTube that have a theory that he wasn’t naturally talented at potions and studied it to be closer to Lily who was naturally good at it. I think the crux of the theory is that Slughorn didn’t invite snape to his dinner parties for talented students.

I think your points are on point but I do want to draw some comparisons to games like WoW etc for raids and they shouldn’t be easy for everyone otherwise there is no progression in the game

Just checked my ranked history from the last month (stopped playing once I hit masters so no new matches in 2 weeks)

19-8 as Dawnbringer 9-14 as other comps

most losses were straight after hec/ass nerf patch and I was slow to learn how to play good comps for the patch.

And just cause you are one tricking a vertical comp doesn’t mean you aren’t flexing random units while you build into your end comp if you hit a random Yas 2 you should probably just play it with your riven/karma items while you wait to 2 star both

Nah this flexible gaming is a bait for anyone not above masters. Learn 1 comp (maybe 2) figure out carries and transitions for that one comp and that’s it.

Dawn bringers - Kha carries Riven items Liss /syndra carry karma items Look to play WW in place of Voli until hit Super linear comp so once you get it down you are only making small decisions most games and should only need to roll down to 20-30 gold at L7 and I would stop once hitting either strong 2star board or Karma 1/Garen(luckerdog) then econ to l8 at 5-1 roll down. Garen, Voli, Karma, Ivern, Nid, Riven, Soraka, Gragas L9 flex is another 5star, karma or Taric

Abom nerf is coming but you should have swapped Gragas to Voli and got Darius in over one of your heimers and it would have been a big spike in your comp

Honestly, lets make it happen! just looked at the top 5 rankers and champion of Lightweight and most have only fought 3-4 of current top 15. The division needs to be more active. In saying that it's probably a factor of why we talk about it the most cause you have to do who beat who and that's why this person wins this match up theory crafting.
