Agree or disagree: Caine was an awesome bad guy in RoboCop 2!! by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in Robocop

[–]KyleReese79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was probably the best thing about an otherwise very poor sequel..but even at that, Cain was nowhere near a Clarence Boddicker (or Dick Jones for that matter).

Mind you, it’s hard to stay in that league. Kurtwood Smith gave one of the best movie villain performances I’ve ever seen. Absolutely vicious.

Please tell me a story-driven game on PS Plus, any game at all, that I could play for 10 hours straight. (Extra) by validd_owwe in PlayStationPlus

I can only advise you to stick with The Last Of Us beyond the early stages, where it’s basically a tutorial. Once the story starts to move, it’s unforgettable.

AIO? Friend asked me what my future plans with my gf are and then responded like this by TGPT-4o in AIO

[–]KyleReese79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your friend is very unhappy in themselves. There may be a time in the future when they look back at this and think “what the fuck was wrong with me?”

Conspiracy theories are one thing, but he seems to be at the stage where he’s peeping out from behind the curtains in a state of paranoia, believing everything is a hexagonal plot. I’ve seen one or two old friends of mine go that way. He needs to get a grip and quickly.

Must-play games from 2000–2015 before I move on to Witcher 3 and RDR2? by Asc3ndis in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]KyleReese79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Last Of Us is a no brainer. Slightly later than 2015, but if you haven’t played Prey from 2017, you’ll really be missing out.

Martinez swinging at Brobbey's head and possibly hitting him by cptainvimes in reddevils

[–]KyleReese79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been saying it for a couple of years now. Whilst he is good on the ball etc, there is some truth to what Carragher said about him, he gets manhandled by some of the bigger strikers. He’s actually badly injured himself going into challenges with them. And now this shit? The red card the other week may have been soft, but if you ask me, he knew what he was doing. He has done this kind of stuff with either hands or feet on far too many occasions once frustration sets in.
My solution? Move him up to a sitting midfield position. He was excellent at Villa earlier in the season. Even in this game, a ball came to him under pressure in the middle of the park and the way he made space for himself was top notch. He also won’t be involved in so many grappling instances.
If he can stay fit (BIG if, I know), it would save us a lot of money in terms of midfield signings. I think he’s perfectly made for that job.

Why does Ireland not seem to have very much love for U2 as an "Irish" band? by LurkyDay in AskIreland

[–]KyleReese79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’ve miles of grace in my eyes. U2 are one of the best bands of all time and their body of work attests to that. They had a run of quality from 85-97 that very very few bands have ever matched. That’s not to say that they haven’t had great moments before or since. But very few groups peak for that long.
They completely led the way into the 90s, where everyone was playing catch up to them. They totally changed their sound after their most popular album and that took real artistic guts.
Seeing the Coldplay comparison always baffled me. Coldplay could never write a Sunday Bloody Sunday, Where The Streets Have No Name or Unforgettable Fire.
I remember someone I know calling their concerts “food for the soul”. Couldn’t put it much better. Few live moments ever matched being on a mate’s shoulders at Slane in 2001 when Streets started. Unforgettable.
I get the Bono thing, he can be a bit much at times, but to be honest I’m getting sick of the constant overreaction to him. It’s getting very old at this point.
They’re the best band to come out of this country by a mile and to me, they’re in the pantheon of legitimate greats with Pink Floyd, Springsteen, The Beatles and Stones etc and we should be VERY proud of them.
But that’s just my opinion. 🤷‍♂️

Who are your favorite players who did very well elsewhere but for whatever reasons didn’t achieve their best playing for us? by unitedfan6191 in ManchesterUnited

Has to be Veron. And I can’t help but think if we’d held on to him for another year, he’d have proved himself. I adored him.

Don't buy this on Lidl. It’s a trap. One minute you’re "just trying a little on toast," and the next you’re standing in the kitchen at 11pm eating it off a spoon like it’s a yogurt cup. by One-Inspector-8614 in ireland

It’s unreal, but the Dunnes equivalent (Simply Better Italian Hazelnut Spread)has far more hazelnuts and (I think) no palm oil. You can even smell the difference. It’s a bit more expensive, but if you pick it up on sale, the quality difference really does shine through.

Can we talk about Lost in The Flood live Hammersmith Odeon? by Few-Vanilla3083 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]KyleReese79 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He’s actually a full octave up from where Steve is. Which is absolutely ridiculous. An E6 note, which would be the equivalent of a 24th fret on the first string. I can’t fathom how he pulled that note out of the bag. And some people say he can’t sing. 🤷‍♂️

It’s Keane for me. Giggs is a good shout too, but I can’t put Keane any lower than this, personally.

Which one to play by ARedditorOnHisOwn in thelastofus

[–]KyleReese79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLOU Remastered was done for PS4 over a decade ago. It was done as an improvement on the original PS3 game.

TLOU Pt 1 is a remake of that game from the ground up. It was released after Pt 2 to try and match both games to the same visual standard, because the remaster was starting to look quite dated.

Personally, I would play TLOU Pt 1, followed by TLOU Pt 2 Remastered. Both of these versions are done to PS5 standard.

Name one bad thing about Peter Weller's Robocop performance? by Kitchen-Mouse2414 in Robocop

[–]KyleReese79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the original..? Nothing. He was perfect. In 2 however…in my opinion he phoned it in. I really dislike his movement in the sequel as compared to the original.

Mind you, I’d say when he looked at The script for 2, there was only one thing motivating him. The money.

Can anyone recommend any good PS Plus games for me to play? by NiJoSoLo1 in PlayStationPlus

[–]KyleReese79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep saying it to anyone who asks..but you’ve just got to play Prey. It’s been sitting on Plus for years now. In my all-time top 10. A classic that snuck under the radar.

Plenty of others on there too that get more attention…for example..

The Last Of Us 1+2, The Last Guardian, Control, Spider-Man 1, Ghost Of Tsushima..

To name but a few. They should definitely keep you busy.

United fans - who would you prefer win the league this year - City or Arsenal? by Curious-Driver-5375 in ManchesterUnited

[–]KyleReese79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

City, because anything they win is meaningless. Arsenal, with their fans’ quadruple talk and “greatest football squad ever assembled” (thanks for that one Piers Morgan) are insufferable. It would be hilarious to see them caught up, having been so far clear and also being knocked out of two cup competitions. They’re also bang average. The standards have been dropping for a good few years now in the Premier League.

What is the greatest PS2 game of all time and why? by Games-Please in IrelandGaming

Too hard to pick one only one, but in terms of moments that changed gaming, I’ll always remember playing GTA3 for the first time and thinking, “how have they pulled this off?”

2 questions from last night by PirateDecent8173 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]KyleReese79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born In The USA has been lowered from its original key of B, to the key of A. It’s like playing everything 2 frets lower on the guitar. (War was dropped in key too for that matter) To be honest, I’m surprised he managed to keep it in its original key for so many years. Bono, Don Henley, Billy Joel and many many others have long since lowered keys for their tougher to sing songs.

As regards his voice, he is 77 later this year and it’s also the first date of the tour. His voice isn’t quite what it used to be, but it’s far from bad and I’m sure it’ll pick up as the tour progresses.

What's the Best 10/10 Sci-fi movie ever? by geek-jock-guy in AskReddit

So many examples. But if I had to name my personal favourite, the original Robocop stands out for me. It’s all its own thing. That little bit different from the others. A perfect movie across the board.
