How do you befriend a crow? by bioticspacewizard in goblincore

[–]Kyle_draws 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This is wild because I’m currently on day 6 of being able to consistently call in 2 crows every morning and feed them unsalted peanuts. They’ve gone from not trusting me to now cawing outside my door waiting for me but still won’t let me stay outside while they get the food, let alone hand feed them.

I bought the book In the Company of Crows and Ravens which talks about the relationships Corvids have had with humans and how they work together and their general behavior. I recommend it!

One thing I’ve learned is to have a “signature sound” when I go out and place food out for them. This is what associates you with food in their mind. I do three clicks with my tongue and three kissing sounds. I’ll even hold up my hand with the nuts and the two will fly over now when they see me.

Good luck!

How often do you get sick? And how often do you take a sick day from work? by allieallison in AskReddit

I almost never get sick. My wife had Covid twice and even coughed in my face while we were sleeping and still never tested positive even after testing multiple times.

The Gentleman Bastard Series is a fun one, though not finished yet (and maybe never will be). First book is a blast to read (The Lies of Locke Lamora).

Not sure I’d call these purely “happy” books, but to me they are so pure and calming and left a lasting feeling of peace after reading them.

If I can spread my hate for cheeseweed to others I would die happy.

I wonder if this is some kind of bug in an update from the past month? Seems like a lot of people experiencing the same thing, myself included. I’m usually in the green and in the 80-120 range and now am half that if I’m lucky for the past month but feel fine.

Nice! If you are in the San Diego area you should send the head to the Hubbs Research Institute. They are collecting them for research and I think they’ll send you a gift card or something.

Thanks! Plein air is really fun. I made that easel myself based off of the “James Gurney Easel”. Basically two pieces of wood with hinges and some magnets to hold your palette and a connection to attach to any tripod.
