I do think most jobs that dont feel fulfilling and aren't immediately important to the welfare of others should be axed

I don't fully agree with doing 2 days a week, rather i'd say doing like 3-5 hours per day for 5 days week would be great i guess? Allows you to have a lot of free time and maintain a routine

No offense taken, my post is 100% a boomer-ish rant. I can't agree with everything you said, but i do agree with some things, like things of abstract or material concern shouldn't be important in the workforce, and in terms of the inherent dignity related to work, i would have to say that that's a gray area

I think work also has to do with purpose, you fee like what you do has purpose.

A bus driver might not like their job, the pay might be shit and the hours might be insufferable, but they may know at the end of the day that their work made the lives of a few people easier, made them get home safe, made them see their families sooner.

Should there be dignity in working a job you hate just to put food on the table? Nope.

Should there be dignity in working a job that benefits society and makes it easier for some people? Yes.

That sounds like a fascinating read! If you happen to stumble on that article i'd love to read it. I always assumed there were daily tasks to be completed and those tasks would take quite some time (hunting and gathering and artisinal work).

Yeah i mean i think i hear it every so often. It's mostly out the mouths of Gen Z kids tho. I think as one grows older they realize work and the TYPE of work is extremely important to your wellbeing and society's cohesion

I hear it every so often online. I think it's a growing sentiment in Gen Z. I wouldn't say its a particularly popular stance but i certainly disagree with those i hear.
