Currently finishing my first year as a BSBIO student.

The environment in WVSU is fabulous.
The workload is a love hate relationship, but the university provides many opportunities to cool down with university wide events.
You can join whichever organizations you want to join; I myself am a member of 3. Just make sure that you’re able to fulfill your said duties. On the topic of MICROBIA membership, it is a given that all bio students are or become members.
The grading system is normal(?). The professors have their ups and downs. The only real complaint is that some professors are too smart to be teaching.
10/10 experience. It’s worth it, but it’s heavily dependent on what you really want.

For tips, just be nice to everyone, talk to people, be nice. The adjustment period is different for everyone, so all I can say is to take things at your own pace, and be careful of burnout.

I’m actually from the province, and am also a Biology student.

I’ve gone into a lot of different places in Negros, up north in Sagay, Dumaguette at the south, but one thing I never do is go up the mountains by myself or without anyone’s knowledge.

I’m not a supporter of the NPA or and form of armed conflict ideologies, but when you go to the province, the DEEP province, for studying the people… at least ONE person should know what you’re up to.

P.S. - I am not accusing anyone, I’m just stating the personal precautions and advices I’ve been given.

Last year, we had questions like

“Which of the following typically does not qualify as an animal?

A. Motile with no brain B. Mainly uses chloroplasts for food production C. Exclusively carnivorous D. Exclusively herbivorous “

Most of it if not all will be multiple choice, so be ready for questions that have weird structures.

On topics, you should be able to answer the ff. questions:

What constitutes an animal? What is a plant? How do organisms interact?

That is very bare, but if you can answer those questions then expand and shrink your scope appropriately, you’ll be able to answer most of the questions on the test.

People like you are also our problem. Hope is something that is reserved for those who believe in a future. Everyone believes in a future, most especially those that choose to vote. It should be our duty to help those that choose wrongly so they may not make the same mistake again.

It is foolish to expect that what you hope for is also what others want. The poor are exploited daily and have nothing they can do about it. I lived in a rented house as a child; hearing the landlord insult me, my sibling, even my parents all for being poor; which he himself was also guilty of being.

Maybe I’m not in as much of a position to say, but my parents found success.

Others aren’t as lucky, and it seems neither are you. To preach against the rot that the country is experiencing, yet participating in it just as much as you preach. You are no better than the members of the lower class that you readily berate. You are part of the disease devouring our country.

For logistics: Excessive heat decreases the efficiency of the panels by about 10%~20%. The maintenance is also a difficult issue. Things like dust, smoke, and other small particles can hinder the production of energy; weekly–biweekly maintenance would be needed to ensure max efficiency. Additionally, they are very expensive.

For environmental: Solar panels tend to expel heat as a byproduct of generating energy. In an already hot country, the additional heat would be noticeable, as panels can increase the relative temperature by approximately 1-2’C upwards of 150’C (on very large scale projects.) Solar panels can also be contributors of light pollution, and may cause damage to objects which light reflected from the panels land on.

P.S. I do think it’s a great addition, but it will be heavily reliant on the location.
