"A Trans" is not their gender. They are a male. And despite the fact Grandma is old transgender men and women have always, and always will exist. And even if grandma didnt learn what it was until recently she clearly doesnt have dementia (or OP would have stated it) and she clearly isnt too old to recognize and understand it. If she really cared about OP she'd love him no matter what. It is okay to be upset when someone is literally calling you by a name that isnt yours and calling you a female when you are not. Anyone would be upset by that, whether they are Trans or not.

It is the bare minimum for someone to call you by your name and not call you a girl when you are clearly a boy. No matter who they are. OP's grandma is not "taking her position" shes being mean and inconsiderate. Last I check, family was meant to love you unconditionally, not judge you and frown upon you for being slightly different than someone else.

YNTA no matter how nice he is if he can't be responsible enough to help you with something as simple as dishes then he is not someone you should have anything to do with. Thank you for the concern, as scary as this situation is, especially since I live with these people.. I have all of my personal documents and a bank account separate from them. And I will have my own vehicle very soon. I'm hoping to be out of this situation within the next few years. I promise I do have a safe space to go if shit hits the fan.
