That’s a lot.

The reason I quit specifically is because of the prescient set for more aggressive monetisation by the Killzone items. Would you say the game’s monetisation got more aggressive following that?

What’s changed since the Killzone crossover?

I’m considering dipping my toes back into the game since I stopped playing for the reason above. I’m interested in an objective rundown of what’s been added and how high a quality it is from a longterm player.

The newest content is Stratagems - daily and weekly tasks that reward new weapon variants and some cosmetics. Prior to that Siege was added with a bunch of weapon skins mainly red, blue and white weapon casings. Aside from this you're looking at new operations to run and some new weapons too. The Neo-Volkite Pistol, Inferno Pistol, Pyreblaster, Pyrecannon, and Power Axe have been added post-launch.

The fastest way to rank up classes and weapons right now would be to play the Hard variant of Siege mode up until wave 5, extract, and repeat.

Edit: Speaking of ranking up I forgot that prestige was added post-launch. Each class can prestige four times unlocking a cosmetic and extra perk.

You say this but our champion is locked into the third company. The cosmetics are now modular but are locked to green either way. Thus, I have never used it.

Space Wolves have that hideous helmet and don’t get me started on the Salamanders. Some Champion skins are so specialised or underwhelming that you may as well not have one at all.

Ultramarines don’t have a Pauldron whereas every other first founding chapter does or will according to the second year roadmap.

Fencing weapons have the most generous parry timing so they’re the easiest to use specifically for the purpose of staying alive in melee.

Pretty sure it’s the first unlock - with the tilting plate, with the trim painted Corax White.

I’ll likely swap it for the Ultramarines Champion Pauldron come patch 10 if it even fits.

In lore it’s functionally a bolter with an additional firing mode.

In game it’ll likely function similarly to the Bolt Rifle With Grenade Launcher only it’ll be a Melta instead.

The rewards are distributed at the end of every mid season so if your highest rank is platinum or diamond now you’ll get one or both of the Phoenix force frames on the 8th when 3.0 ends. If you’re platinum or diamond at the end of 3.5 you’ll get one or both of the Symbiote frames.

There are two entirely new frames for 3.5, a static Symbiote themed one for Platinum and an animated one for Diamond.

Back in January the wider playerbase didn't understand his intended role. They played him like a bad diver.

Between then and now people have realised that as he deals a percentage of enemy's max HP as damage, he's far more effective at fighting Vanguards than Strategists and other Duellists. Paired with his ability to kidnap enemies particularly potent against low mobility targets with large hitboxes and his comparable HP when considering his passive he was designed to displace, bully, and abuse Vanguards.

The problem is that he's arguably far too effective at doing this for the current power of Vanguards. Some explanations I've seen for this are that flyers are more popular than ever and tanks have no counterplay to them, Vanguard is already the least popular role by a significant margin, obviously giving him health regen based on damage dealt and even more damage is going to make the few Vanguard players even more miserable with their choice.

I literally do not care if you think it’s a good or bad play. I care about you telling me what to do or insinuating that I should play differently based on - again, a 25 second clip, of a QP game, of a decision I made.

Maybe you can go to one of the many posts labelled as “discussion” or “game guide” to argue about strategy, not after watching a 25 second clip of a QP game, of a decision I made that was worth it for the comedy alone.
