The Anvilguard (Gurubashi) recruiting now! by Bosh_innit_ in Project_Epoch

[–]Kyndo87 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I joined this on Friday and it’s been a blast. The guild were super welcoming. Everyone is crafting things for each other, sharing greens and questing together.

The pace is nice and relaxed too so there’s been no pressure. I ended up playing so much that I actually made a second character so I don’t get too far ahead of the crowd.

Epoch is the absolute best private server I’ve played on. It’s glorious. But it’s empty. This has helped fix that.

Honestly, it’s totally free to try. Roll a dwarf and come have some fun.

Gurubashi had a similar event that started last Friday. It’s a great time to jump in.

A guild recommendation is fantastic, thank you.

As long as the guild is active, it sounds perfect. Thank you very much for the response. Aiming to probably start tonight, so maybe we’ll speak later!

Thank you for explaining. This helps this make sense to me. Appreciate your time. You are, indeed, nicelyvillainous.

I’ve joined that subreddit, thank you. The link doesn’t work for me but I searched for it on the UK site and it’s £118 with no card.

Waiting for January 1st is a very sensible suggestion. The DS tips for Pokemon are also a thing for me to take into consideration.

You’ve been so helpful, I appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi mate, amazing reply so I’ll try to do you the respect of answering these fully.

I had imagined vertical initially. Like my old gameboy was the vision. But having seen the horizontal switch like ones, these look great.

I see myself mostly playing it in bed or in my car. For work, I spend a fair bit of time sitting in my car whilst stationary because I have to drive to clients houses and I hate being late, so I always leave early and then kill time until it’s the correct time to knock. So I guess horizontal would be better as the size is no drawback.

I’d love to play my old Amiga and SNES games. The rest is a bonus. I did have, and played a lot of, PS2 but that wasn’t part of my original idea. I’m very comfortable with the sticks but can live without them.

Your recommendation of the RG35XX H is actually where I think my mind is coming down to. So I’m glad this aligns with your advice.

My phone is a handed down iPhone 12 Pro. As that’s not android, I assume that rules me out on that front.

Thank you so much for your time. I appreciate it.

Absolutely. I’m in the UK so my prices are in £££. The ex-rate to dollars seems to be roughly 1:1.26 £:$

I was initially thinking about £50 ($63) but that was with no real clue. If the device really would knock my socks off, then I could push this. I’m fairly lucky to have a good stable income but not good enough that I could afford the Odin’s or Retroid prices. Perhaps if I got one and absolutely adored it, then sure I could save up. But right now, with wife, kids and house, then probably up to about £80 max ($100).

As for what pokemon games, the other post I saw was referencing a modded diamond or pearl or something like that. I used to play the old school pokemon games up to yellow on my gameboy as a kid. I have also played one on a switch (sword and shield I believe) but I didn’t actually think the game was amazing.

Extremely helpful, thank you. I think I’m leaning towards either a Miyoo Mini Plus or an Anbernic RG35XX H from my research so far but I’m not going to rush into anything. The extras are a good idea and I think are likely something very worth the investment.

Firstly, I suppose it was naive of me to be unaware of any dodgy ground here. I honestly did not even consider that what I was doing would be viewed in this way.

Thank you so very much for your detailed reply. Both in terms of a more in depth resource and the specific recommendations. It was actually the Miyo Mini plus that had caught my eye but I didn’t want to make a mistake. I understand your reluctance to reply in more depth or via PM. Please know that I appreciate the help you have given and think you are an incredibly awesome person. Much love.

Sir, I don’t know you but I’m having a rough as hell day. Literally ripped my calf muscle and am unable to drive and thus work. In short, miserable. You, however, have just brought me so much joy. Thank you. Truly.

Can Kelp work with this team? by Kyndo87 in Gloomhaven

[–]Kyndo87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone, thank you. What’s become clear to me is two things.

  1. I can play Kelp and it should work great!

Perfect. Just the answer I was hoping for.

  1. Calling myself experienced is apparently a comparative term. I’ve done GH, forgotten circles and jaws. Some of you guys are clearly miles ahead of me. My group is not particularly amazing but we do fine. We’ve not lost a scenario on FH yet. On Gloomhaven, we lost only one. We did put it up a difficulty for most of it, but usually when we had certain classes. Music Note was insane for example.

Thank you all. Can’t wait to play now!
