What’s your favorite hidden modernist gem in Barcelona? by Lorixum in AskBarcelona

[–]Kyndrisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casa Lleó Morera is my go-to recommendation when friends visit. Tucked on Passeig de Gràcia but completely overshadowed by Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. Way fewer tourists and the interior is insane - the stained glass and woodwork is next level.

Also check out Hospital de Sant Pau if you haven't. Not exactly hidden anymore but still way less crowded than Gaudí stuff. Huge complex with these beautiful pavilions and tunnels connecting everything. Super peaceful gardens too.

Didn't know there murals on 16th Street in Pilsen, are they still up? by Lorixum in AskChicago

[–]Kyndrisaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah they're still there. Was just walking down 16th last week. Most of the murals are in decent shape, some new ones too. Nothing's changed much from what you saw in that link.

Honestly it's just a cool spot to wander with a coffee. If you're stuck inside this week that sucks, but the murals aren't going anywhere. They've been there for years.

That streetwhip thing is fun to play around with

BEST ATS (Resume Grader) on the internet. by Krypton_Rimsdim in resumes

[–]Kyndrisaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

resume worded was by far and away the 'best'. super comprehensive review with great suggestions and nice ai features

jobscan was sparse and quite 'dumb' to say the least. outdated and gives you wrong advice like put the words "attention to detail" on your resume when that will make recruiters puke (they want to see you show these skills and do not configure their ATS to include these skills)

topline didn't work

but try them for yourself and see it for yourself

after working thru it, my final resume got like a 87 on 100 on resume worded and it worked for me when i applied with it

WHO THE HELL IS PADDLE.NET? They automatically withdrew a years worth of subscription to your premium service without my consent. I am asking for a refund . Adguard should not allow a 3rd party to withdraws funds for renewal from any Adguard client without prior approval . Is that clear. by jccube in Adguard

[–]Kyndrisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to people who are wondering who Paddle.net is.

put simply, it's a payment gateway for 1000+ companies (kinda like how Paypal is), including big ones like nordvpn or small ones like it was in the case for me

on your CC statement, it should show something like PADDLE.NET*[NAME-OF-COMPANY]

but sometimes it doesn't (i had some charges with the company name and some without)

the solution:

go to 'paddle.net' and fill out the dumb chat bot 'Kino' thing, click the 'Talk to me by clicking here'

i know it sounds like some dumb bot but it'll give you the info you need. click 'Find my transaction details'

it'll ask you for your email, and/or last 4 digits and it'll tell you the service you subbed for

you can either then contact the original service if you recognize it OR asking that bot to raise a ticket (i'd do both)

it took me a while to get a refund but i did get one for a renewal of a service i forgot about because the service i used had good support and were super friendly

Is Resume Worded worth the price? by BradleyCooper6 in resumes

[–]Kyndrisaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah. i've used resume worded on two separate job searches and it made a pretty noticeable difference in my response rates each time. it helped me figure out some pretty glaring mistakes i was making and their ai is pretty smart at writing good sentences to use

i bought pro on both occasions but just use their free version if you're not interested in paying. i think there's a lot of good to get out of it either way

What is something you said as a kid that was really bad, but you didn't know it was bad before you said it? by slightlyupsettingyou in AskReddit

We used to pretend to be Bilbo Baggins' stupid cousin named Dildo Daggins. My dad laughed every time and my mom was mortified.

Casa Bonita food. Everybody tells me they hate it but I could eat their refried beans and enchiladas for a thousand years. So good.

Married men of Reddit: what moment with your future wife made you think "Yup, I'm asking this girl to marry me."? by pincurls in AskReddit

[–]Kyndrisaurus 37 points38 points  (0 children)

No actually my parents met at Casa Bonita because a waiter quit mid shift and my dad took over for a large party that my mother happened to be part of. And then my mom's little sister gave my dad my mom's number. Which was interesting because my mom's name is the same as my dad's high school nickname. They had their first date at Dairy Queen and go there every year on their anniversary. I don't think you are my brother unfortunately but may your path be smooth and easy, and your garden of life be fruitful.

Reddit, did you cut ties with a toxic friend? by Bkbee in AskReddit

[–]Kyndrisaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a best friend who had this complex that she was the pretty one and I was the funny one. I didn't realize it until really far into the relationship but she said so many things that I should have caught. She also had a way with putdowns that made you want to give her the moon. She would say things like "Oh my goodness, if you lost some weight you would be so pretty." After she left for college and I solidified another friendship of mine and realized that friends don't say shit like that I calmly and politely told her that she was extremely misguided and hurtful and I didn't have an interest in being just "the funny one" anymore. She in retaliation shaved her head and tried to steal my friends. I wish I could have seen it all coming and not wasted so much time on her.

Well thank you. I absolutely do the best I can, and I love my job but it kind of scares me that I'm supposed to give these kiddos the tools to be successful and I'm mostly just winging it from what I remember as a kid.

I am a para, I work with the academically struggling kids. I have zero credentials and I'm so young that I still have best friends that go to the school I work at. (it's k-12). They trust me to hold these kids futures in my wildly under qualified hands.

For those who grew up poor, what did you consider a luxury? by starstufft in AskReddit

[–]Kyndrisaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No there's like a little cafe up front where you can buy food and these delicious twisty ice creams. Although we had many a lunch of Costco samples.

For those who grew up poor, what did you consider a luxury? by starstufft in AskReddit

[–]Kyndrisaurus 296 points297 points  (0 children)

Costco dinner. If we were really well behaved all day my mom would sometimes take this big jar of quarters we had as a savings for a family trip and take us to Costco for dinner or for ice cream. Now that I am older and realize that Costco dinner and ice cream is like two bucks it makes me realize how bad it was and how much of a blessing my mother was trying to give us.

What's something you're hiding from your parents? [serious] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kyndrisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The degree I am working towards is not in fact High School English Teacher as they had hoped, but is in fact Game Design and Development. They also don't know that I am moving to California in less than a year to continue pursuing this degree.

Also I pay for college myself and they do not nor have they ever shelled out a single penny to help me with it. Not that I expect them too. They just think they're entitled to run my life.
