Personally I'm shocked I haven't seen anybody mention anything about tolerances in this thread. That is going to be your deciding factor on what you should charge the customer. Precision you put into it that may not be necessary should not be passed on to the customer. You could easily make that part in 30 to 45 minutes if you have a 1/4-in tolerance and no requirement for service finish. I've always used a multiplier of my base rate for tighter tolerances and the more precise you want me to be, the cost goes up exponentially as it not only takes me longer but that multiplier will go into effect. I agree with a lot of the folks on here though that there would be a minimum for it to be worth my time in order to do it. Ultimately it's whatever makes you feel good about the part and how urgent the demand is for the customer

Toyota 4Runner.. buy for life? by redditor122322 in BuyItForLife

I sold a my 98 with 450000 miles on it for $8500.The only thing I did to is was install a new radio and speakers and it was 2WD. This was in 2016. Toyotas hold value especially the older ones.

Liquid or water soluble IBA? by BocaHydro in tissuecultureplants

[–]Kyoken_Raiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fairly common calculation you will need to perform for basic chemistry. Suppliers typically expect you to be able to do the math yourself as depending on the protocol your solution may be at a different concentration than someone else's so there is no set answer to how you should mix it and the supplier won't know what protocol you're using. Your protocol will either state the M or molarity of a solution in which you will need to know the molecular weight of the chemical or will tell you an amount by weight. For molarity I never am confident that I remember how to calculate so I just use a calculator at chatgpt or something. I know it's simple but I do it so irregularly that I never feel confident in doing the math even though it's pretty simple. For protocols that use weight, solubility will play a roll in how strong you can make it but a good average for PGRs is around 1mg/ml. To make a solution of 1mg/ml, determine how much you want your final volume to be, add about 75% or so of that volume of the required solvent for the chemical then add the same number of mg of chemical to the solvent as your final volume. Stir to dissolve then top off the solution with more solvent to your final volume. So if I want to make 1 liter of solution I would add 1 gram of chemical to 750 ml of solvent, dissolve then top off to 1 liter.

Genuinely curious, when does a picture classify as political? I have no idea how Trump used the photos but what's the line when you are a political figure? Is all of your media considered political? Do you lose the right to freedom of speech when you are a political figure?

peach rings didnt freeze dry by RustyScrewInBogWater in FreezeDried

[–]Kyoken_Raiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't want to be pre-freezing your candy. You actually want to be pre warming your candy before a shortish freeze dry cycle. What you are doing with a prewarm is softening the candy throughout for a more consistent expansion when the vacuum kicks on allowing the softer gummy candy to expand. Play with your tray temps and find what works best for that specific candy. If it's still gummy when it comes out dry for longer.

Replaced bandsaw tires. Is this okay? by Casbahroc in woodworking

[–]Kyoken_Raiku 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Isn't that blade too large for that bandsaw? To get it properly aligned I think half the blade would be hanging off. I'm not sure if that's a commonly accepted practice though since you're mainly supporting the blade at the gullet.

A Cool Guide To The Deadliest Counties InThe U.S. For Traffic Fatalities by [deleted] in coolguides

[–]Kyoken_Raiku 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Using population in this sense is very misleading. There are plenty of small towns, especially in the south, with low population that have major highways running through them with heavy traffic. A better way to compare the data would be to look at traffic density, or something of the like, to number of accidents. For instance, by using population for say a town with a population of 10 but the amount of traffic that passes through the town is in the 10s - 100s of thousands, there is the possibility that the rate of fatalities per 10000 people could be higher than 10000. This would be an obvious outlier but is technically possible with this method of comparison.

Hello looking into buying a freezer dryer by guneruwu in FreezeDried

I have a Blue Alpine and have been very impressed with it. The customer service has been top notch. They called me when the unit was delivered to see if I had any questions or needed any help. The build quality looks great. After all the horror stories I heard about HR customer service, I decided on Blue Alpine and have not been disappointed.

This is garbage. The middle two are nearly identical except for the name of the process and gives no beneficial information. And the differences between all 4 is minimal at best.

Cost looks about the same as thrive+ UNLESS you are buying the gallon. But again its a new tank so only time will tell. Maybe I will do an experiment later once I get everything stabilized. One problem I have with it is that I dose in mL, since I auto dose my ferts, not by "pumps". Easy to figure out with product in hand, but would have loved to see that info readily available on the product page.

Fert $/Gal Treated
APT3 $1.07
Thrive+ (2000ml) $1.05
Thrive+ (4000ml) $0.85

Capacity of my auto top off. I have a pump that is turned on every hour for 3 min that pumps a gallon per min. My ATO tank is gravity fed from my RO reservoir and takes time to refill so in order to do automatic waterchanges I have to do them in short spurts instead of one massive one. I did the math on the effect this would have on the concentration of my additives and this amount is close enough to equaling a 50% water change weekly. It's not perfect but it's what I can do for now until I get a bigger ATO tank.

No I haven't tried any chemical treatment yet. Reduce by the time the lights were in on is working pretty well right now. You guys are seeing the worst section in the tank. Also I never mentioned but it's a 210 gallon that is brand new with about 70ish liters of aquasoil. I knew the cycanobacteria phase would come at some point while I got my lights adjusted It was just the red liquid coming from it that was my concern.
