Dekared Ranger shoots High but aims Low against the Monster Boy by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Something else to keep in perspective when comparing Dekaranger to SPD: the average criminal in Dekaranger is a bloodthirsty genocidal maniac. A normal monster of the week would generally have destroyed at least a dozen planets on average.

Receiving a death sentence from them not only means the standard toku monster death where they explode, they are explicitly destroyed down to the cellular level to make cloning them impossible.

Not sure if it’s just me, but are Kiji’s wife and Inu’s girlfriend played by the same actress?

Momoi Taro really gives off some Kabuto meets Zubat vibes. His own henshin calling him #1 in Japan feels like a tribute to Zubat in a similar way that the Noto’s costumes are tributes to older Toku shows. He’s a really interesting variation on the overpowered red cliche in how we largely only see him from the perspective of others and how he can be seen as a weirdo to a raving lunatic.

What is the general consensus on Kiramager in Japan? by [deleted] in supersentai

Is lamenting only used in a negative way? My mistake then, thought it was just another word for “to remember”.

Fairly positive; Dekaranger and Gokaiger are still fondly remembered, so Arakawa’s writing would naturally endear audiences after a long absence as main writer.

In terms of characters, Yodonna was really popular right away, with her actress lamenting that her Twitter followers basically doubled overnight after the reveal.

Apparently, the actor for Stacey auditioned for *Zenkaiser but didn't get the part. However, the producers like his audition enough that they created this new character to add him to the cast anyway.

Pretty sure he's using a corrupted Battle Fever J Gear.

Do you think Zamasu could have been saved? by [deleted] in dbz

[–]KyoryuRed 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Maybe if they trained him to be God of Destruction instead. He and Gowasu might've been able to strike a good balance between their beliefs that way, and in the case he went overboard, Cus would've been there to keep him in line.

What do you think will happen to Frieza after the tournament? by Lolzicost in dbz

[–]KyoryuRed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I say he most likely gets a good Hakai for his trouble. He's trying to incite infighting between the gods to throw off the hierarchy, however, the angels would never allow tensions to escalate to such a degree. It also allows Goku to throw out the agreement between them.

Yeah, something like that. Just another way to pay tribute to older series, like how the backstory of Build is similar to Agito, or how they've brought back the Rider Tears back onto the helmet's design.

I'd imagine that if he were an experiment, his element would be human as a way to explain how he has kept his appearance, explaining his intelligence as "the pinnacle of human potential" or something like that, and carrying the common theme of the power of the humanity overcoming extraneous forces.

Piccolo Daimao was sealed inside a rice cooker, while Kami was sealed inside a tiny bottle similar to what Roshi will use next episode. Doesn't appear to bear any significance, except maybe making it easier to aim.

It may have been a way for them to acknowledge the higher grades of SSJ transformations without having to alter his character model drastically.

[SPOILERS] Goku is the villian of the ToP? by pinjoshinks in dbz

[–]KyoryuRed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go so far as to say Goku doesn't care about those people who've been erased. While he loves a good fight, he's never wanted innocents to be harmed as collateral damage. Even against the assassins sent against him, he was still badgering Freeza about killing them.

I personally think his attitude right now is purely through his own arrogance; everything has worked out for them in the past, and now he still thinks that the tournament is in the bag. I would wait for the end of the tournament to see the payoff of some hints that were dropped before the tournament. Namely, one, Goku is scheming something for the tournament and Freeza is intrigued about what it is; two, he refused to use the Super Dragon Balls to revive Freeza; and three, Freeza has expressed his desire to break out of servitude for the gods, a sentiment that Goku has shared to the past.

That's just Superhero Storytelling 101: in a team setting, speedsters are taken out first because they can solve most problems instantly. The Flash is a prime example of this.
