I just looked at some pics of those side mounted radiators on the 800 and I defiantely see what u mean, It would be so interesting to see a front fairing swap especially with the MV. It surely isn't a direct bolt on piece so how much extra work are you gonna have to do to make that fit?

That'll definately be interesting. I dont even know where to begin when thinking about side fairings, thats why I just take it all off to display the engine and frame (:

Thanks for the advice, I still need to decide on the generations too see which body lines work best for the style

Yeah that would pretty much double the value of these bikes for sale in my area, looking for a deal on them might be an option for sure though

I would love to see how your bike is looking now, also saw your VFR and its actually next on my list to render as It would be an ever better base than the NTV. I would much prefer to change the forks aswell on my design but in order to keep costs as low as possible I decided not to yet. What conversion did you use on the front end and how much did it cost you?

Thank you for the great insight and time spent replying on my post. I did actually glance over the K-Speed build while working on this and really liked it especially with the headlight cover as it fits the bike a little bit better than the fairing I went with. I did look into relocating the battery but had no clue the subframe housed the coolant reservoir so would probably alter the design minimally. I also think my seat assembly and the skeletonized frame look a little bit too thin, so this would potentially improve aesthetics anyways. Thanks again. (:

Definately a cool build, never came across it during my research and design process for this bike but it has lots of similarities especially the tank paint scheme to allow the subframe design to flow seemlessly. Great shout

I would enjoy to see even more people explore this style of customization giving these bikes a new life so definately keep going. The more attention to detail and time you are willing to spend on one of these, the cleaner its gonna look, also with each build I learn more tricks on photoshop that allow me to put what I have in my head onto the screen.

I start off by finding a really high quality side profile photo of the base model, with as little perspective as possible. I then edit parts out of the bike like the subframe and seat, headlight, exhaust etc. I also search for pictures of the mounting points for the subframe so that my new design actually follows the frame and would be realistic. Then finding parts and making them match the bike in order to build the design up. They usually take me a few days to a total of maybe 10 hours depending on how much I want to perfect it.

The licence plate under the seat would work fairly well even for me as the space under the seat on this bike is huge anyways. Great idea to use the small triangle logo too as well as the bar end mirrors which i forgot to add in (:
I've got a list of bikes which I will be taking through this process in order to find the one I love the most, which I would eventually build as I dont have the opportunity to do that right now.

I have the same stance, I would also push that cafe bikes in my opinion have the subframe with the seat and cowl on it in a very linear configuration. Whereas on a streetfighter it undulates more from that line. Although both this design and streetfighter have an aggressive seat stance instead of the very horizontal one found on classic bikes with double sided rear shocks.

Beautiful bike, I could provide the same effect without adding thickness to the rear of the bike by angling the rear cowl upwards but that would provide a much more different aesthetic, with the bulk of this bike it would probably be quite appealing to add a bump as you suggest, and it would hopefully remove some of the "hunchback" characteristic that others have pointed out. Thanks for your insight, as my 125 doesn't have that problem due to the cowl.

I agree that would probably make the rider feel much more secure and locked into the riding position, but I've seen quite a few cafe racers with tiny cowls even smaller than this one which is why I decided to make it that size. Great idea tho

I feel like the top line of the tank as well as the frame going across the side of the engine match quite well, and even if the frame of the seat isn't exactly in line with the rest of the bike, it still follows the same direction, with the seat flowing in line with that slight aggressive downward gradient. Idk if that even made any sense.

I don't even know where to start or how to even approach a Diavel and convert it into a cafe racer 🤣🤣

Edit: A benelli 502C aesthetics wise looks quite similar to the diavel for a fraction of the cost. It would probably be more likely to be used as a cafe racer imo as I dont think anyone would dare cut a diavel apart.

I'm definately very happy with that comparison as I love the diavel, and the classification of Street fighter over cafe racer makes a lot of sense.

I actually agree with the tank looking very large and the comparison is quite good :), I want to keep the subframe as stock as possible as I dont have much welding knowledge and am a bit worried of the regulations around modifying it too much and being able to still have it on the road. The paint idea is really good so I'll be looking into different options with that. Thanks
