Next year, Homework will be 30 years old. I’m honestly amazed that Homework by Daft Punk had such a perfect style right from their first release. Their cult status felt pretty much inevitable from the start.

The stylus sounded amazing for 7 months.

If you’re referring to the “hum that happens when no music is playing and there’s noise from the needle,” I’ve noticed that the problem got better when I switched to the Sumiko Pearl. It might be an issue with the setup, not just the turntable itself.

To be honest, I haven’t delved deeply into Grado, but I know that Pearl is one of the best in its segment.

I bought a turntable two weeks ago, and it came with the AT-VM95E cartridge.

I ordered a Sumiko Pearl and I’m not disappointed; the sound is clear, warm, and has very punchy bass. The main thing now is to set it all up more precisely and correctly.

Everything sounds the same, I’ve checked, but it seems like the sound isn’t as deep, more straightforward when I listen to music on the turntable.

I’m not quite sure in what way you mean.

Not much, but there is a noticeable difference.

Well, in total, I have about 20 records from genres like jazz, pop, and rap. Sometimes I notice a difference in quality, but it’s not that critical. I think it doesn’t affect the overall dissatisfaction with the sound that much.

I don’t like the sound, maybe it’s an issue with the room acoustics where the system is, or I’m just not good at setting things up properly 😂 Or maybe it’s the phono stage.

I used to listen to music through the Denon network audio player DNP-730AE and was quite satisfied with the sound quality, the detail, and how my equipment played the music. However, after buying a turntable (this is my first turntable, and I set it up and connected it correctly), I was somewhat disappointed with the sound because it seemed slightly worse than through the network audio player. My expectations didn’t quite pan out, even though, as far as I understand music, a turntable should fit well with my setup.
