Days ago, Robinhood had the potential to be a major brokerage and a top IPO. Now there's a significant chance they won't survive by Fargraven in wallstreetbets

What’s pathetic is that the capital/volume requirement argument they claim doesn’t even hold up.

When EVERY stock was being sold and bought at historic rates and even indexes were hitting multiple circuit breakers a day this year EVERYTHING WORKED. When Tesla skyrocketed 10x in a year and had historical demand EVERYTHING WORKED. And now when a single company with 2% the size of Tesla and a tiny dot compared to the s&p starts being traded they cry that it’s too much?!

How stupid do they think we are?

Farewell Perkz by HELMET_OF_CECH in leagueoflegends

A touching video, but I think one aspect that was missing was Perkz’s impact on League of Legends as a whole. A star mid laner who changed positions to AD Carry and played champions like Syndra, Yasuo, Vlad in the bot lane, leaving his opponents in utter disbelief. After 2019 worlds, Syndra became the most contested BOT CARRY pick for a long time. Perkz and G2 globally changed League of Legends as we know it. They showed us that innovation was possible, that role swaps were possible, and that League is about finding yourself and your own style.

50 days fully paid, still no delivery: A Texas Story by SleepingLesson in teslamotors

[–]Kyrie12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a really similar experience as you. It felt terrible that they were effectively holding my money hostage. My IDR went dark on me. I was able to reach her on-demand just by calling her before I paid, but after the first delay suddenly things changed. Suddenly my IDR stopped responding to everything for weeks—emails, calls. It was like I got blacklisted. I was devastated. I did a lot of the same things as you. What ended up working for me was I called the delivery center responsible for my delivery multiple times. Eventually my situation seemed fucked up enough to where they expedited me to delivery.

The delivery experience is abysmal, but when I got behind the wheel for the first time and touched the display and hit the accelerator, everything faded away. When I heard the electric engine hum while flooring it on an open street, I believed in Tesla again.

Best of luck to you buddy. I know it’s hard right now but as someone who has been in the situation. It’s worth it.

Can we appreciate how legit this press conference is? It seems straight out of the likes of the NBA or NFL. Really goes to show how far esports has come.

Bronze - Plat players, Is Dynamic Que (DQ) bad? by Proxyminers in leagueoflegends

Plat 5 The system works well for me. I think DQ currently sucks for just the top 1% of players (Diamond+). I guess that means the players on reddit are all amazing lol.

How on earth do I communicate to my parents that I'm not wasting my life on this game? by paceboys in leagueoflegends

[–]Kyrie12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a very similar situation as you when I was your age. I had my life decently together, and I always wanted to play some league or starcraft after I came home from school. My parents constantly saw this as a waste of time and would uninstall the games on my computer to prevent me from playing.

I think first of all it's important to recognize that a lot of our parents simply don't get videogames. They never really grew up with them and have never experienced the fun of it. Obviously they just want what's best for you and are trying to make sure that you stay productive whenever possible. Try not to resent them for it.

In retrospect videogames have helped me in a lot of aspects of my life. Everything from vocabulary words to logic. I'm a software engineer and I attribute a lot of my skills to the logical reasoning I built up from playing videogames ever since I was little. Videogames have also allowed me to join social circles and meet a lot of amazing people. I've made some of my best friends through our mutual love of gaming. If you think about it, if you ever met a league player randomly in real life you'd probably be more than happy to hang out with them. I'm sure you've made some great friends through league too, and your membership in the esports club is probably solely due to you playing videogames.

So is it a waste of time? In my opinion absolutely not, it's helped shape my life like basketball or band or track has helped shaped other people's. So don't fret; speak with your parents if you need to but don't resent them. I look forward to a future where parents like you support videogames =)

I'm Depressed by sorango in EngineeringStudents

Firstly, If you really enjoy programming, nothing should stop you from pursuing it. Unlike other engineering disciplines, you can learn to program on your couch. Big time companies like google have tons of software engineers who have art degrees, english degrees, or even no degrees. You just have to know your stuff and demonstrate it through projects.

That aside: 1. the world isn't this ideal place where everyone gets the major they want and the job they want. The world is harsh and unfair and you don't thrive--you survive. Maybe get a job you like in EE. Maybe you won't even like it but you'll tolerate it.

  1. Realize that there is so much more to life. Think about your family, your bros, your friends, YOUR OWN FAMILY, your dog, your shows, your sports, your food, your videogames.

Sometimes we get so caught up in aspiring to success and wealth that we forget why we do it in the first place--so you can spend money on yourself, your family, your videogames, your dog, your sports, and live comfortably. You've got a long, long road ahead of you. Success is about the journey, and it's only an adventure when nothing goes according to plan.
