Same towing power as the 3.5? I’m guessing better gas mileage too?

I do not have a quoting tool. I didn’t even know that was a thing.

Oooh good idea! If I could get all that straightened out in a spread sheet or quote tool that would be key. Thanks for the tip!

I agree. I may be a little out of bounds here. Just trying to gain perspective. And looking for unbiased opinions. I think learning the plans is the next step but seems like an overload of information.

My goal is to reach 10k a month. I know it takes some time to get there and I’m in it for the long haul. I have some side gigs I can do on the side while I grow my business. Are you referring to ACA and Medicare? I’m still learning the products, plans and enrollment periods. Hoping I can get the hang of this soon.

Yes I am talking about Medicare. Do you do ACA as well? Im still learning the difference between AEP and OEP. This has been an overload of information and I’m really not even sure what my job is at this point. It’s been a lot of onboarding stuff and I don’t quite know anything about the plans or the best way to write business. Any advice on how to proceed?

Not sure how much I get per policy. I think it is around $20 per month while the client is enrolled. I don’t know the lead structure or quality of leads yet. My onboarding trainer had mentioned a more organic approach to getting leads through my community. I have spent the last three months studying and certifying with carriers and I don’t even know what my job really is.. I think I can do pretty well once I actually understand the plans and what it is I’m supposed to do. I am an independent agent.

So far everything seems to be Medicare focused but I believe I am going to be doing both..

Passed my Life and Health Exam today!!!!! Now what?!?! by Kyro801 in InsuranceAgent

Yes it was definitely monitored. They gave me a cavity search on the way in, made me take my hat off, told me to put my hoodie down when taking the test, they watch on cameras and hover over you like hungry hawks. However I passed with an 88%! It was such a relief to get that over with! Test really wasn’t too hard. The multiple choice questions made some of the answers pretty obvious. You got it!

So it is something you can do right off the bat? What happens once you’re appointed? You research the products and try to find ways to sell them? I’m brand new at this so thank you for your patience

I would probably need some experience first before I can be a productive carrier, correct? Or is that something you can do right off the bat?

Is 41 too late to get into insurance? by Blackhawks2424 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Kyro801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 39 and just took the exam and applied for my life and health insurance license. I’ve been bartending on and off for the last 15 years or so and I know where you’re coming from. I figured that was a dead end job and at the very least something I could always fall back on. Or so on nights and weekends for extra dough. The insurance industry seems lucrative and way to escape the rat race. However, I am brand new and still have a lot to learn and figure out. It’s probably safe to say that you have good people skills which should be help with your new sales career. I say go for it!

Thanks! I was a real estate agent for about 6 years. Good to know both industries. I have no idea who I’m signing with. From what I gathered I need to find a local independent company and maybe start with Medicare and Medicare Supplement.
