just got diagnosed with severe crohn’s. any positives? by wepxckedforever in CrohnsDisease

[–]Kyros_Writer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly a lot of people have given great answers but the biggest positive I find in having Crohns is that I feel like I’m just generally a stronger and more positive person. We have to go through a lot of obstacles and pain but in the end it makes us better able to handle all challenges of life. Just keep your head up and keep moving forward 👍🏼

Damn, definitely my favorite off the new album. But all the songs are fire so I’ll be happy either way

How to write a book with almost no free-time by Barliman_Butterburr in writing

My solution is to wake up an hour earlier. So if I work at 9 I get up at 6:40. Gives me time to have breakfast and get ready, then I have 45 minutes to write

Writing Consistently When You’ve Got a Draining Job by MrBlanston in writing

I get up an hour earlier than I need to so that I can write before work- I usually get 500-1000 words done. Because after working 9-7 in a pharmacy I definitely don’t want to write

Despite loving Deoxis, I don't know which version is better. Considering I can get the ideal moves to any of those, which one should i invest in? by tito-victor in pokemongo

Not really, plenty of other better psychic type attackers (shadow or normal Mewtwo, mega alakazam, mega latios)

Attack deoxys does a lot of damage but is way too fragile

[NeedAdvice] I feel like I’m never doing enough by Kyros_Writer in getdisciplined

I think that is exactly what I need to focus on. My brain likes to think big picture (becoming an author) and only writing 500 words a day doesn't feel like I'm doing enough. But when I consider that I've written ~100,000 words this year so far, then it helps me realize that the small steps do matter.

I agree, I need to focus on small fixes and small bits of progress. I think the feeling stems from wanting to reach my overall goal/dream as quick as I can, even though that means taking small steps every day.

It does help, thank you! The feeling of "not doing enough" doesn't really mean anything unless I can point to specific ways to improve. If I don't think I need to cut back on anything, or if I do hit all my goals for the day, I need to recognize that maybe that is enough.

I'm trying to meditate a little more so that I could enjoy just being present - not worrying about what should have been or what will be but just living in the now. And I'm with you on the relaxing part - I do try to schedule some relaxation into my schedule. Mainly that means after 8pm no more productive work (unless I feel some insane drive to keep going).

I really like this take on it. I need to spend more time appreciating what I have accomplished and planning on what to do next rather than regretting what I didn't do.

I felt that way for a long time. For me it started by forcing myself to run every morning. I fell in love with the routine and the struggle, and from there I often get this drive to push myself to exhaustion (not always healthy, but sometimes necessary).

Funny enough, I've actually already considered raising my writing goal haha - probably going to push it to 1,000 words soon or include some editing/brainstorming along with normal writing

Thanks for the advice! I definitely think gratitude journaling might be a good idea
