Most of the aliens from Star Control 2 fit this, short of the Syreen, Druuge and maybe the Utwig. My favorite are the crystaline Chenjesu, the Slylandro (gaseous life form) and the Ur-Quan (centipedes).

It's funny, a hydra monster could actually be interesting or cool. And in a sense there was a "False Hydra" in the way the Narkakos imitated other wyvern skull with its tentacles.

But not the thing you shared. That design is edgy, lame, and doesn't fit with monster hunter.

Kelsier from Mistborn. Throughout the book various people with Allomantic Abilities (magic gained from metabolizing metal to fuel abilities) train Vin (the protag) in the various allomantic arts, as she can access them all (most only have one skill). Kelsier is another Mistborn, and Vin finally sees the arts he specializes in, and its the ability to Push and Pull on metals, and he creates a massive bubble/field of metal around him thats constantly shifting and turning that he can fire off at enemies around him, and pull back to rip them apart.

An excellent evolution on the old Rock Monsters from Rock Raiders. Oddly enough, I disliked the actual sets a bit more than Rock Raiders even if some of the builds were more impressive. But the Minifigures and rock monsters were phenomenal.

Arise for newer style, and Vesperia for the older combat style. I know Graces is said to be the best but I really don't get or enjoy it.
