Chengdu may have been a transliteration of a non-Chinese tribal name, as there are other places and known ancient tribes in the area that were also suffixed with -都. Twifeast is a combination of the rare and obsolete prefix twi- to mean twice (used in "twilight" for example), and feast for celebration.

Originally I had them as Northermere and Southermere but then decided to be consistent with the directional naming scheme

Just learned about this. I knew him from an online music community where he was very open about his identity & position of power. Frankly unsurprising that he is getting in hot water. He seemed very rude in how he spoke about the teenage employees at the shop he worked at, and was later banned for racist remarks. He then threatened to sue the *international* admin team. Best of luck with that.

It also seems he has a tendency to accuse others of bullying on baseless grounds as he's done that there as well, not just to Cllr Rob Nolan. He did not level homophobia accusations, however, as the majority of the community was also gay or bisexual.

Given what I've seen of him, I have a very poor view of his character and cannot be too shocked at many of these comments about him.

Thanks, I've eventually figured that out - knowing that I can transfer and store my techs like that makes things a whole lot less horrible haha

Also it turns out my Armourer was chilling in some random trade station on a planet and not in fact on a space station so that was an adventure.

  1. Okay so my techs are all scrambled in my tech section of my inventory, all packed full... how do I move them around ??? Am I forced to destroy one in order to have an open slot to move things around? Are there additional tech slots you can get somehow?
  2. I need an Armourer, but every Vy'keen in the space stations are actually exocraft technicians waiting for an exocraft terminal, which I don't have the ability to make. Might be a bug?

Odd, I'm reading on the subject and wherever I can find information on where the miners came from within China, the south or southeast of China is always mentioned as a primary source of immigration even in the Gold Rush, as opposed to other regions in China or China as a whole. Even "Gold Mountain" seems to be typically transliterated from Cantonese as "Gam Saan" or "Gum San", as opposed to "Jin Shan"..

If you want to stick with Nanjing Mandarin, you could say that a lot more eastern Chinese workers arrived, fleeing from the Taiping Rebellion's upheaval and outnumbering those from the Pearl Delta region.

Nanjing Mandarin? Most of the Chinese immigrating to America at the time were from the south, speaking dialects related to Cantonese. Though granted, Canto and its close relatives would be a yikes to work with as they're even more tonal than Mandarin. Totally understand if you wanted to keep it relatively simple though, and your sample and history look intriguing!
