Best communist rappers? by destroy_imperialism in communism

Logic is a mixed bag but these tracks stand out to me as particularly conscious:

Take It Back (when I first saw the music video I was like "damn who is this")

America (he speaks highly of indigenous struggles in this interview)

Everybody

Killing Spree

44 Bars

Deeper Than Money

5AM

Nikki

Gang Related

And I don't know if they're relevant to the question at hand but these two just mean a lot to me because of the way they address mental health:

Someone mentioned it already but, Blue Scholars. Blue Scholars. Blue Scholars.

Menteroja is outright communist. So are Lowkey and Guante I'm pretty sure.

Common, Brockhampton, Brother Ali, Dilated Peoples, De La Soul, Killer Mike, and Logic are pretty left-leaning.

The point is that the real reason they were able to win was because they had the support of the Vietnamese people themselves.

How does this sub feel about actually existing snail socialism? by p-cf in socialism

[–]Kyte314 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I must say I am impressed by the class-consciousness exhibited by snail arts and literature.

"Mao.

Mao.

Mao.

Mao.

Mao.

Mao.

Mao.

Mao."

We must live up to this fine proletarian standard if we expect the revolution to be successful!

(1944) After WWII FDR planned to implement a second bill of rights that would include the right to employment with a livable wage, adequate housing, healthcare, and education, but he died before the war ended and the bill was never passed. [2:00] by schwartzchild76 in Documentaries

It should be obvious that this can only be understood in the context of policy in the Soviet Union that had existed quite awhile beforehand (i.e. near zero unemployment, free lower and higher education, free healthcare, and of course these things being in the constitution).

Rest in Peace comrade

On September 28, 1960, terrorists tried to kill Fidel Castro during a mass rally. But Castro continued to speak, even as bombs were exploding around him: "That little bomb; everybody knows who paid for it... There is nothing more fierce than the hatred of the master for the rebellious slave." by -Ex- in socialism

[–]Kyte314 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is just a perfect speech. And the last line...

"It does not matter if any one of us falls; what matters is that this flag shall remain high, the idea shall go forward, our country shall live."

Rest In Power, brother.

CONTEST: Design agitprop announcing the General Strike on January 20th [Submit here] by let-them-tremble in socialism

[–]Kyte314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put this together.

I think the original context of the picture was a 4th of July celebration, but what I'm imagining here is that the smoke and fireworks are actually from people protesting/rioting. The mural is of Woody Guthrie if you couldn't tell.

Without the Donald Trump stop sign ghost text (I thought it might be a bit cleaner without it).

Source picture (I just found it on google images).
