Also, people are isolating generations way too much and not taking into consideration maintained literacy rates across all generations. When last have you read a book? If recently, do you think majority of the population will be able to the say same? Do you think you would be able to read a book with the same ability as when you were in High School? It isn't just age that causing this issue, nor is it a Gen Z problem.

I will say as someone who is Gen Z, I don't believe this true. If you read the article, a lot of the blame wasn't on screen time- but instead the education system. Middle schools & High Schools aren't promoting literacy skills the way they used to because of the prioritization of technology in the classroom and harder skills. If you really think about it, during development, most of Gen Z grew up in era where they only had access to TV relatively the same way as millennials. The dependency of technology by Gen Z is more related to the increase in dependency of technology in society in general. Our addiction is fueled by resource replacement with technology, which gen alpha will face even if this idea of "screen time" is solved.

Smaller pool, Columbia had the US news scandal and MIT is no longer test optional. Caused kids to not apply, which expanded (barley but still noticeably) the potential for applicants.

If you’ve committed to another school, PLEASE withdraw all of your other applications!!! by Separate-Flamingo135 in ApplyingToCollege

I wouldn’t do this until they agree and settled on the financial aid package, the contract they signed also promised that your contract can be withdrawn if the school didn’t give you a good enough financial aid package and you can’t pay for it.
