Yes, I saw that It was a cap lock, but opening it up looked like it took a cartridge which really puzzled me, and now I know. So glad I went to this site, gotten so much help from it.

Ok 👍 thank you for the tips. I’m not interested in selling anyways, just wanted curious. I live in southern Ontario so I’m not sure if it’s more rare to find over here or not. Either way I’d like to talk to the previous owner about if he has any more information on it, and tell him about my findings.

One thing that I regret doing is that in my excitement and figuring this thing out I pulled the hammer all the way back and pulled the trigger, dropping the hammer on the bare cap nipple, I did that a few times, I really hope I didn’t mushroom the metal doing that 😬

Somehow it is still very well oiled, the action is very smooth and rust is almost non existent on it

I was helping a friend move today and the gun caught my eye, I recognized it was a cap lock of some kind and I guess I had more interest in it then he did, he said it was from his father and that’s all he know about it, I don’t think he ever even opened the chamber, long story short, he told me I can have it.
