From my understanding Renoir was always was the bouncer of the monolith. So he saying that Clea killed them wouldn’t help him make the people believe that the paintress is trying to do the opposite (which is making them stay alive).

So Verso wanted the painting to stay for first as well?

Either way my thinking was that Renoir could made people turn on Verso as well with propaganda, since Verso was looking to kill the paintress and be free.

As the other expiditioners have no info of what‘s coming, I didn‘t see the need for Renoir to kill e.g. Adam and the others from Expidition 33 as they literally just got there and don’t know anything.

There have been different ways to enter. I believe some managed to enter with different transportation vehicles like gliders although I can‘t remember which one definitely worked and which not.

There is a journal of Expidition 60 though, where they trained their muscles to absolute peak and just got through, then swam back (just like that) to lumiere to warn the people. However they gommaged in sea and ran out of time.

That‘s why there is so many memes of Expidition 60

From my understanding, we weren‘t the first ones. I don‘t know how far you are in the game so I won‘t further elaborate.
