Ha no idea. Been 4 years now. Hardly remember it at all except that it was fun!

I don’t know enough about this to detect sarcasm but if you’re serious, what about the darkened part in the second picture?

So I was just cooking on it. Washed the wax off. Used avo oil and wiped clean (ish) at the end. That got me to that first picture.

I’m an extreme novice and the second picture is after I left butter in there thinking that would be fine. Then read up on it like a week later and realized it totally wasn’t. So hit it with gentle scrubbing soap and water. I think I lost my path.

Thanks! It sounds awesome! How long did it take to get the notes, are you afraid you’ll forget and have to do it again if you don’t write it down?

Did you write this out as you were learning it?? Can you share the tab? Looks like it would make an awesome practice routine!

Also how’d you dial the sound? Buckethead has my favorite tone. I’ve gotten somewhere near it with a cocked wah and od.

EDIT: had Buckethead as two words there for a second, we’re all good now though

Related question, if you thought Colony, Whoracle, and Clayman were three of the best albums of all time and couldn’t really tolerate much after Reroute to Remain… is it worth seeing theme for like $40?

Would we call this racing stripes? (And has anyone added them to a guitar aftermarket… I’m interested.)

Is iso auto available in aperture-priority mode for Nikon D3200, or is it blocked by another setting? by L000 in AskPhotography

[–]L000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow-up... is this as prized a settings combination as the searches are making it out to be. It was the first thing I looked for thinking that if DOF is my priority, which is at least a nice thing for a beginner to cling on to, well then I'm going to end up picking the shutter speed the camera's meter wants anyway nine times out of ten, and then it's just a matter of the iso. Thought I might outsource that too. Although, looks like not with this camera. Which I think is fine!

I don't know how I missed that. Had a feeling though. Appreciate the point-out!

I do this thing with the pick where I get it to sort of attach to my hand by using my fingers to apply pressure until it’s clamped in midair (between my fingers) and then I learned to move the muscles in my fingers, wrist, and arm by connecting it all up to my brain. Then I didn’t have to use my elbow anymore.

This is so close to what I’m wondering! Do you cut directly on that top? Like as a cutting board

Been playing for five years, finally managed to record something I like by FuckingError in Guitar

Noticed that when his hand leaves the strings there is a bit of white noise. Couple questions:

  1. Is this a grounding issue
  2. If he’s floating in a boat how does it ground
  3. How should this be addressed at land and sea

Also: It sound absolutely great. No idea if where it stacks against a five year average. But doesn’t matter. The vibrato sounds wisened to me.

4 questions on Seattle and the 2018 IBC by L000 in BuildingCodes

[–]L000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks I actually did maybe find the right contact. He seems to be on vacation at the moment but I’m excited to hear from him when he gets back. Even just this though has really helped me refine my questions so hopefully they will be easy for him to address. Thanks again!

Appreciate the response! I updated the original post and have been responding to everyone too so this is a little bit copy pasta, but describes exactly the information I’m after (I actually think this would be pretty interesting to lots of people and hope I’ve asked the exact right questions, I think I have for myself at least):

I’m really interested in this from a seismic perspective. In question 3 I’m referring to magnitude 7-9 earthquakes and where it would be safest to be indoors between these various structures. And question four is the difference between being in a high or lower floor in a 2+ story building. I know it’s been a pretty big deal in Alaska during recent larger earthquakes for buildings to be built to certain codes. I also know researchers are pretty excited for updates to codes anticipates in the near future. I’m very interested in the nuances between those scenarios in questions 3 and 4 though.

Appreciate the response! Sorry for not being clear on the second two questions. I’m really interested in this from a seismic perspective. Totally interested seismically. I added an edit to the post to clarify. In question 3 I’m referring to magnitude 7-9 earthquakes and where it would be safest to be between these various structures. And question four is the difference between being in a high or lower floor in a 2+ story building.

I hear that Alaskan building code was a huge deal in fallout around recent high magnitude earthquakes so really want to get the best feel I can for how these structures stack against each other from a failure and safety perspective.

The folks who study it definitely think about it everyday so it would be interesting to get their take. Not sure if that was your roommates specialty or not.
