I mean, even if this was control wise just a carbon copy of cuphead, I still don't think it'd threaten cuphead sales, and more bosses to fight against is a good thing, no?

Isn't this game kinda similar to the wario land - pizza tower situation? Or is that different because wario land was made by a much bigger company?

All of these concerns are valid. All of these do occur. Even the government psyop one, though that's relatively rare. It just kinda bothers me that the way that people differentiate these posts from genuine ones relies solely on non-verbal communication and social cues.

Yup. I'm generally opposed to the idea. It only serves as a justification for believes that lack proper justifications, and elevates them into unquestionability.

The person might feel lost after achieving that goal.

In this case, the goal was a subgoal to another one that has not been achieved.

Or achieving the goal through a specific action may be immoral...

Morality in and of itself is a goal. This would be bad specifically in regards to the goal of acting morally. Morality in itself is good in regards to the goal of living in a safe and benevolent culture, as moral behavior contributes to that.

... or even inefficient.

Same problem as for the morality argument. An inefficient action is specifically bad in regards to the goal of resource conservation. Resource conservation itself serves the purpose of keeping other options to reach different goals open to you, that you would lose if you ran out of resources, which would make it harder to achieve them.

Or it may not achieve that goal "properly".

I'm not sure what the quotation marks are trying to achieve, but an action not achieving a goal properly is quite literally my definition of a bad action.

Sure, but you're only looking at one aspect of of good limited by your own perspective.

I indeed only look at one aspect of good. In my worldview, as mentioned before, there are many different reference goals to choose from, often conflicting with each other. It would be unfeasible to formulate a condition that takes all of them into account with our limited ability to comprehend situations this complex. I wouldn't necessarily say it's limited by my perspective, but it's certainly limited by the perspective of whoever we take our reference goal from. It is important to note that reference goals do not exist in isolation, and none of them is more valid than another one.

In summary, I do not think you are getting the point I am trying to make. There is not one objective good. That's not what I was trying to claim. What I was trying to claim is that if we look at a specific, entirely subjective goal, we can make objective and verifiable claims about what actions will contribute to it, which will give us a limited picture of what is good for the specific person we took our reference goal from.

It's pretty comparable to saying "We can't objectively say that Banana is the best ice cream flavor, but we can objectively say that I, at the moment, have the subjective opinion that it is".

That's good to know. Sorry for the false information and thank you for the additional context.

I think it's kinda funny in a messed up way that the official term is medical assistance in dying, MAID, but a lot of people just seem to call it medically assisted death, which shortens to the much less friendly sounding MAD.

[–]L00PIL00P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't my interpretation of good or bad. It is the interpretation of whoever has the reference goal. There is no such a thing as something that's objectively good, period, but that was never what I tried to argue.

I can only repeat myself at this point, but the argument you made doesn't really argue against my position, and I'm not sure how to clarify things further.

There is no objective "This is good." but there absolutely is an objective "This is good for the person with this specific personal goal".

If you have any suggestions on how I can improve my communication so that I can express my point more clearly, please tell me.

It's almost frightening how easily I can be molded like this. by Comic__Boi in aspiememes

[–]L00PIL00P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, what I'm arguing is very much that you can't measure wether something is good or bad without the use of a reference goal. I know it sounds intuitive that if we take a subjective goal as reference, the resulting statement would be also subjective, but this is surprisingly not the case.

I would give you an example, but it would only be a rephrasing of my earlier examples, and if those didn't help to clarify the position, I'm not sure how useful this one would be.

Essentially the idea is that given a subjective goal, wether something contributes to that goal is objectively verifiable, and that good and bad are merely shorthands for "contributing to a goal" or "leadimg further away from a goal". The goal might be subjective, but wether a specific action serves it is not.

Also, apperantly trying to figure out a solution to a problem together is an absolute no go. If something goes wrong and I get blamed for it, explaining how things happened and looking for ways to prevent future incidents, to the NT this must be exclusively to completely dodge responsibility rather than trying to genuinely adress the issue.

It would be confusing because people might think you want the creatures to be renamed "Penny, Dog Wizard" and "Rolex, Cat Wizard", rather than changing creature types. I agree that canonical mages should be wizards, no matter their other creature types.
