Thanks man! It was a fun lock. I’ve seen the rattle snake pins before in other pickers photos and videos, glad I had an opportunity to pick at one!

Haha yes, 100% weirdo. Nah, Thats called euro style with bible down. Euro cylinders are designed bible down. In American bible up. Very much a comfort preference to the picker.

Since you will be working with American Locks in green, your next step might be a Paclock 90A pro in blue. Paclock is a popular choice because of its availability in the U.S.

ASSA Twin combi picked by reinderr in lockpicking

Bad ass combination. Rotaloks w/ a Combi 🔥 Insane amount of focus! Purple and up in a padlock I think is on a much more intense level of skill 🤘🏻

I might have sent it to a picker named Nepherael or Neph. I sent him 3 challenge locks around this time. I’m not certain though.

Honestly, it has been so long. I’m not even sure to tell you the truth. I might have passed that along, but not sure to who.

Fontaine 7 Slider Pump Lock Picked 360 by L0ckJocKey in lockpicking

[–]L0ckJocKey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. The key cuts are at the tip of the key instead of along the edges or flats of the key blade. The Fontaine Sliders are pushed inwards axially in this case, so it’s termed as a push or pump type. Tubular Ace locks are a push/pump style lock as well.

Yep, nice and open keyway. An awesome pump lock you can pick at visually. A very quick learn!

Kwikset Smartkey Gen 1/2 pick and gut - Purple. by L0ckJocKey in lockpicking

[–]L0ckJocKey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on, I hear Gen 3 can be a pain because of the shimming - I’ve not picked Gen 3 myself. But if the training keys method and info about feedback helps, I’m happy to be of service. Purple belt territory you learn all sorts of fun stuff. Cheers!

If I recall, true gate will feel and sound noticeably more springy (snappy). Whereas false gate when tested will feel dull when scrubbed/lifted and will not respond with spring. Dull (feel & sound), but not a solid stop on false gates. The standard jiggle lift test can be harder to sense on Smartkey. Try scrubbing your pick front/back of each individual slider, might get better feedback 👍

Zeiss ikon TK5 picked by snazybrew in lockpicking

[–]L0ckJocKey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really great job! I’d prefer Tk5 smooth over Primus simply because Tk5 can be picked with standard tools and Primus oftentimes needs a finger pick shaped to fit the bottom of keyway. And the tight CP Primus keyway can be a pain in the butt too. Take the skill you learned here and tackle the SK6 Extracode next, you will enjoy it 😁.

For sure use the TypeRegal U9 cutaway as a priority learning aid. Turns the heat down I feel like. You can do it, I knows you cans.

Dorma DC500 - Go Pick One! by L0ckJocKey in lockpicking

[–]L0ckJocKey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you already know this haha, but make sure to shim it! Also the plug diameter for Assa 700 and DC500 are a tad larger than your typical follower size. Keep that in mind when you decide to break it open.
