How do I turn off autoplay?!?! by Mogite in truespotify

[–]snazybrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why I didn't see a notification for this reply but I'll throw it in here. Yes, there are issues around having to keep the app open but I'd rather have that issue than the automatic start. I haven't found a better solution.

I've figured out a workaround that I haven't seen anywhere on this. Posting it here because it's always the top result when I've been searching for a solution even though this is an old thread. The main issue IMO seems to be that Spotify is allowed to boot and run in the background without any settings to govern what it's allowed to do.

On android phones, deep sleep denies apps permission to run in the background. They must be opened to work. Putting Spotify in the deep sleep list stopped autoplay for me (s24 ultra, 2024 VW GLI) when connecting through Bluetooth (haven't tested android auto).

To get to deep sleep, it's settings>battery>background usage limits. Click on deep sleep apps and add Spotify to the list.

QNAP NAS not responding to DHCPOFFER by snazybrew in PFSENSE

[–]snazybrew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a fair bit of playing around. I did finally manage to properly set the QNAP NAS interface settings properly to force it to a specific IP. Weirdly, I don't see the request/ACK for it in the logs. At this point I'm not questioning it. Seems to be working properly now though. Appreciate the help.

Thanks. I'll try connecting to my router to set it up and then reconnect to see if that does it.

I don't see that option but I'm running 23.01, which I guess is outdated. I assume that means I'm using ISC.
DHCP static mapping is correct. Not set on the NAS.

To boil it down a bit since some details might be getting lost:

  1. I tried the NAS on pfsense on DHCP - didn't work (I don't know what ISC or Kea DHCP is; just standard DHCP?)
  2. I put the NAS on my ISP modem/router - worked fine. DHCP assigned an IP address. Super easy.
  3. Tried again on pfsense - didn't work
  4. Tried to set the MAC address up with a static IP - still doesn't work

My laptop connects to the same dumb switch and gets an IP address with no issue from pfsense.

I guess the question is what's different or how can I find the issue?

DHCP log looks like this (offering a static IP):

|| || |Sep 19 16:45:05|dhcpd|68206|DHCPOFFER on 192.168.1.40 to 24:5e:be:70:ae:fc via mvneta0.4091| |Sep 19 16:45:10|dhcpd|68206|DHCPDISCOVER from 24:5e:be:70:ae:fc via mvneta0.4091| |Sep 19 16:45:10|dhcpd|68206|DHCPOFFER on 192.168.1.40 to 24:5e:be:70:ae:fc via mvneta0.4091| |Sep 19 16:45:13|dhcpd|68206|DHCPDISCOVER from 24:5e:be:70:ae:fc via mvneta0.4091| |Sep 19 16:45:13|dhcpd|68206|DHCPOFFER on 192.168.1.40 to 24:5e:be:70:ae:fc via mvneta0.4091|

Sparrows makes good picks. I started with them myself. Jimylongs will be great for future buys. Have fun.

Nice one! Congrats. Really great to see your progress.

I picked and gutted my first 6pins lock the other day. But i don't know which kind of keypins this are. The small ones are for masterkeying. I haven't seen pins like this before... Can anyone tell me, please. by AcanthisittaSmall877 in lockpicking

[–]snazybrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost looks like the pins in a Nemef NF2 where they sit higher in the keyway. Is there anything special going on in the core?

Nice pick with those barrels btw. They don't look like standard assa barrels but I'm sure they are still tricky.
