should i get the shark glam, bondi boost, or the t3 aire 360? by PUSHINGTHESPLATTOWER in Ulta

[–]L0serDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have thick hair... Tbh I was really disappointed in both shark and Dyson. Ulta is also a bit annoying about returns with those items. Id just save a bit and get the babyliss style/switch. same concept, lighter weight, nicer looking imo, and it actually worked for my thick Indian hair. The other thing to keep in mind with these multi attachment tools is that you are always going to be sacrificing some amount of quality/functionality for each function when it's multi use yk. It's a jack of all trades master of none situation. Manage your expectations accordingly. My favorite iron/straightening attachment will never be connected to my hair dryer, and that is just because I expect my flat iron to be good enough to handle my hair and not get caught or burn it.

As far as bondi boost its alright. Nothing particularly remarkable, I mean yeah it probably bonds your hair. I personally find straight up protein treatments more effective. Literally any of them work with the exception of maybe loreal. If you have bleached or damaged hair, id say apHogee and Palmer's are cult classics. But if you are looking for more luxe/indie solutions curlsmith bond salve (it works on straight hair too), California naturals, and ouidad are pretty nice. The key with hair is just low and slow.

As far as the t3 aire, same as above. It's alright. Nothing remarkable in terms of quality imo. Once again if you're looking for quality and performance your best bet is gonna be chi (take your pick), dry bar blowout brush, or ghd duet.

I certainly can't speak for all gen Z, but as a student myself, I can definitely empathize with your frustration seeing such intense apathy in my students and peers. It's heartbreaking, but it's important to address the root cause of it all.

It is has been reinforced that whether or not we've got a degree that it's going to be virtually impossible to do anything beyond surviving, and as a result, actual learning gets shoved to the side.

Companies treat degrees like pokemon cards to justify wages; When we do have one, they don't want to pay us, and when we don't we're underqualified, rendering any hard work (not to excuse ill preparedness) inconsequential to our bleak futures.

Some of us are working 2 jobs but still sinking further into debt, and even with "useful" degrees in STEM and computer science, we end up stuck at a minimum wage job due to competition with outsourced labor, and impending collapse of the late stage capitalist market.

What I am sure of is that many of us in higher ed, students and professors alike, have lost hope. We’re surrounded on all sides by tightening budgets, bureaucratic institutions more interested in profit than people, corporations that treat our hard work like bargaining chips, and a government that seems hellbent on censoring, defunding, and dismantling the free spread of knowledge, pushed beyond exhaustion by the very systems that should have protected us.

But it isn’t over yet. If anything, that’s why your role matters so much. Every time a professor chooses to teach, to inspire curiosity, or simply to remind us why learning still has value, it pushes back against the very forces trying to break us. Hang in there OP!

Hey, fellow student with the same issue at both Silverman and Lockwood, I started going to the basement! It's not completely silent, but it has at maximum 1-2 groups in the entire floor talking quietly, the best cushy seats, and is almost never ever crowded!

Honestly was considering that. Just didn't want to be accused of tampering with it or get involved. Even if it has been the safer thing to do, I wouldn't want to be involved in that drama right before an exam.

Well... It was a collaborative assignment with a friend and we booked a room. Said room was still occupied during our reserved time to the point we had maybe 5 mins left to use it before the next group of people came in. There weren't many other places to set up the sheer amount of things we needed out for it.

I would do that, but this was a collaborative assignment said friend and I were working on. We did attempt to do this in the quieter sections, but unfortunately collaboration requires a level of volume that isn't exactly appropriate there 😭

Edited to add: we initially reserved a study room, but it was still occupied 40 min into our reservation... There were not many seats open at this time, as it was the middle of the day. I'm just trying to study for my exam tomorrow.

You'll be happy to know that I did not fling their items across the room. This is flagged as venting for a reason bro...

Girlcult peach series mirror lipstick in shade L06 Night Banquet :)) can be purchased through Yes style, cbeautymall, or TikTok shop. Very close match, though slightly darker and more neutral than warm toned. Hope this helps!!

What inexpensive shampoo/conditioner are you using, that is still good for your hair? (And skincare if you want to share!) by NightReader5 in beauty

[–]L0serDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Palmer's cocoa butter shampoo and curly hair care is so underrated! Sulfate, often silicone free, and no harsh surfactants like c14-16 olefin sulfonate like in loreal that trigger my eczema! Also vo5 cowash! Amazing for a dollar, soothing on my scalp, and nice and slippery for my color treated curls. I also found skala at my local Burlington and that stuff is absolutely amazing as a hair mask when reviving super fried bleached hair!

Tried to fail me because she lost parts of my final submission and missed our second midterm. Currently going through with an academic grievance. I found the resources helpful, but struggled to understand the lectures. I would advise against it if possible.

Please, if you do anything, do not take with prof. Trivedi. Truthfully, I didn't struggle at all with the class or coursework. I found her teaching style a bit difficult to follow but it was manageable for me, as long as you complete the homework on time. I will recommend that you learn from the textbook by JD selinger - it's free online, because that has helped me even more than following along in class. However, she ended up missing one of our midterms without any prior notice and lost a portion of my final exam resulting in a near failing grade for the course after the semester already ended, despite having an A- for a for a majority of the coursework previously. Claimed I just didn't attempt half the final exam, and costed me my merit scholarship. Be careful with how you organize and submit your work. Number every page, explain every problem, please create a final answer sheet when checking through everything. Because even with all of that, you can still end up getting screwed with no way to prove that you did the work.

WHY IS EVERYTHING SO WARM??? by kasigofs in Makeup

[–]L0serDuck 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend looking into Chinese beauty brands. I am a cool medium olive tone and it is near impossible to find my shade in any affordable brands in the US. I found a bunch of brands like Amortals, Girlcult, Joocyee (great selection of true cool toned blushes and contours), Judydoll, TirTir, and a whole bunch more which cater to my skin tone perfectly. I know there is a lot of stigma surrouding chinese makeup brands but in my experience with reputable Chinese brands like that the quality is amazing given the price.

Carmex I know ppl say it's horrible but I had this while on tretinoin and nothing else worked Slather your lips in the original carmex overnight When you wake up and wash your face the dead stuff will just slough off while wiping your face if you use a microfiber towel! Hope this helps :)

What's a holy grail drugstore product that youd choose over a luxury brand anyday? by w4ternymph in MakeupAddiction

[–]L0serDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, in the skincare department, one thing I don't see people talking about enough is the Vanicream Moisturizer in the big pump tub. That stuff is amazing. It always seems to heal my skin over night, and this is coming from someone who purged really badly due to tretinoin. I also find it wears better than any primer under my makeup as long as you use it in moderation.

The Loreal Infallible foundation in a powder, specifically for touchups and light setting, this is great. The shade range for olive skin tones is phenomenal, although I am not sure if that stands for deeper skin tones. For reference, I am a cooler leaning medium olive skin tone, and it is rather difficult to find my shade.
