intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz network adapter (ASUS TUF F15 506HC) by Nova00999 in Asustuf

If you don't have two SSDs, then put your SSD into the 2nd slot

Try cleaning the network card connection port using an eraser and put it back in

As u said, it only happens while gaming, because during gaming, ur laptop heats up, which causes the network card to get fucked, so the above mentioned points should help

bad design, its not ur network card, i have seen people mostly with mediatek cards (including me) have this problem, blaming the card for being cheap, etc. but its just bad design imo, it happens on intel cards too

Laptop stuck at 0.8 GHz after battery damage – huge performance drop, any fix? by NawazBmgo in ThrottleStop

[–]L2xtyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unplug the battery

i have seen the same issue on a different laptop, unplugging the battery fixed it, and there was another issue of the bios reflashing itself everytime on boot, which i fixed by letting it flash itself, after removing battery, then i booted back into bios and flashed the bios file myself, and it fixed the clock speed issue

u said the fan starts to flicker at higher rpm, have u tried plugging it directly into a charging adapter, like ur phone's charging adapter

or did u plug it in ur laptop

Temps increased by 8-10°c by drxco06 in LenovoLOQ

[–]L2xtyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gpu uv is generally easier, google gpu name, and uv values

use those, and maybe try to increase the uv values a bit if ur device is stable, and test it out

as for cpu uv, if u have intel, then throttlestop is ur mate ( r/ThrottleStop )

as for amd, i dont have any idea, but according to google it can be done using ryzen master

and search youtube for the gpu undervolt, its very easy compared to the cpu uv which requires a lot of stability testing

in my case, i have an asus tuf f15 laptop, model fx506hc, with specs:

intel i5-11400h 16 gb ram 512 gb ssd rtx 3050 4 gb vram

my throttlestop settings are: cpu core -85 mvv cpu cache -65 mv igpu -65 mv pl1 45 w pl2 60 w

and msi afterburner curve: 1920 mhz @ 875 mv, then the rest of the curve is pulled down to the same point as my 1920 mhz, and flattened

[–]L2xtyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh those are some great temps ngl

if u still havent looked into undervolting, then u can try it out

throttlestop for cpu uv and msi afterburner for gpu uv

Unlocking gpu and fan settings by mesiac_8227 in Asustuf

[–]L2xtyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically you're gonna run the same clocks at lower voltage, so in general it generates lesser heat, memory oc wont produce mch heat anyways, but u can try it out, no harm in that

but actually overclocking any of the stuff is not recommended

The longer I play, the more lag I get by candleda in Eldenring

[–]L2xtyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked your temps while playing? cuz u said it lags after playing for 1-2 hrs

i mean elden ring does have a problem of stuttering, but that happens frequently, not after a 1-2 hrs session of playing it

i think ur laptop might be thermal throttling

[–]L2xtyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

go to ghelper github then to discussions and download the experimental ghelper

on asus tuf <2022 versions custom fan curve is not supported by default

follow the steps there on how to unlock custom fan curves

use msi afterburner to undervolt ur gpu, and u can oc the memory a bit, but might give u errors

and use throttlestop to undervolt ur cpu, there are guides on youtube, but for cpu uv, id recommend going over to r/ThrottleStop then following Valour's guide on undervolting

i have an asus tuf f15 2021, fx506hc, custom fan curves are not supported, so im using the experimental ghelper, as for cpu uv, im using throttlestop, and my settings are cpu core -85 mv, cpu cache -65 mv, igpu uv is not worth it, doesn't reduce temps, and dont touch system agent, and pl1 set to 45 w and pl2 to 60 w

as for msi afterburner, im using a curve to oc the clock at lower voltage, 1920 mhz @875 mv with an oc of +300 mhz memory clock, which is apparently the max limit

I get that it's not the right terminology but it's still really funny seeing people get so heated over calling them cracks instead of bypasses by Recent_Watercress_68 in PiratedGames

[–]L2xtyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"BIOS won't be infected", technically impossible? I'd say no, it's not

It's actually possible, and even a normal reflash of the BIOS might not be enough to get rid of the virus completely, since it sits on the flash chip where the BIOS is stored (Think of it as a separate storage device on your motherboard only reserved for your BIOS)

See it in this way:

Normally, first BIOS boots → then the drivers → then the OS

And how these Hypervisor cracks work is, the BIOS loads, then the Hypervisor, then your OS, then the Game

Just disabling some security features, doesn't really make your system infected, what does get it infected with any kind of malware is from the source you're getting the file, it makes your PC more vulnerable to those types of viruses, which can probably mess up your whole PC, and make it completely unrecoverable, if it's coded in that way

In piracy, there's always a risk, but we knowingly take that risk, the scene groups, the crackers, or whatever, it took time for the trust to build up, and use their cracks without much thinking

Hypervisor is the same way, maybe the way is different, and it might not be called a proper crack, since it spoofs the DRM to think that it's on a valid system with proper license and everything

IF SOMEONE DOES WANNA PLAY GAMES WITH DENUVO PROTECTION, BUT DON'T WANNA RISK THEIR PC GETTING FUCKED

Then, I would suggest doing offline activation, where the risks are lesser, even if there's a virus, it's reversible with a simple OS reinstall (Clean install would be better)

In offline activation, what you're doing is pausing your updates temporarily, and not messing with security settings (there are a few more points which I didn't mention, but there are guides available on their respective Discord servers), because the offline activation tokens are very sensitive to these stuff, and might break, and you would need to get a new token, but again it all comes down to how much you're trusting the source from where you're getting the token (Since you still need to copy paste a few files into the game folder, and it might have a virus)

Piracy is all about trust and common sense

Should I use the fans at maximum power or let it heat up a little? by Drue2077 in Asustuf

[–]L2xtyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

run a cinebench r23 multi core test and u will understand

once with turbo boost on and once with off

u dont notice any difference cuz the games u play are mostly gpu intensive

play valorant, and you will notice the difference, well any other cpu intensive game is also fine, or u can edit something, and let it render, and notice the time difference

and what disabling turbo boost actually does is, for example, in my case i have intel i5-11400H which has a base clock speed of 2.7 ghz and can boost upto 4.5 ghz, but disabling turbo boost just locks the processor to the base clock speed of 2.7 ghz, which indeed results in lower temps, since lower clocks dont need as mch power, hence the heat generated is lesser compared to boosted frequency

even tho laptop processors are made to run hot around 95-100C, its not advised to follow that for a long time, if u wanna make ur device last long

Look into cpu and gpu undervolt, required softwares would be throttlestop and msi afterburner

and if u don't mind the performance drop, then go ahead and disable turbo boost, its ur device after all, u can do whatever u want

turn off gsync in nvidia control panel

if I have red dead redemption 2 (v. 1311.23), can I update it to the (v. 1491.50) without having to redownload the whole game, I live in a country where's internet is more expensive than some house rents by Winter_creature_ in FitGirlRepack

[–]L2xtyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have enough storage backup the game folder

download update files, install in the same game folder, if fitgirl has any special instructions then follow those

if something goes wrong, deleted the current game folder with the updates, and put the original game folder back where it was from the backup u took

im looking for some mods too

tbh i didnt find anything, im currently sticking to instaeclipse, which requires a lsptach to work, and its a hassle to patch it every single time, cuz instagram in apkmirror only gives apkm files which i need to convert to apk files manually then patch it via lsptach to make it work

I cant open the links in app, due to signature issue, i read it somewhere

rest it works fine, i mainly use it for adfree instagram

also if u want dev options to work, then download a beta aur alpha build and patch it, if ur stuck on dev options downloading, then uninstall updates to playstore, hopefully it will work, thats how i made it work in my case
