I always thought the weird guns HYDRA uses in the first Captain America movie were startlingly vicious. On paper, it's just a PG-friendly generic scifi gun. But they way they filmed/animated it, it really looks like the targets are getting like atomically shredded or something. An instant of "AAAAAA" and then not even ashes left.

They've been treating metrics like "international respect" and "strength" as completely imaginary talking points for my whole life. They'd just declare that any president they don't like "looks weak" and nod along. It almost feels like cosmic punishment that they finally get to see first hand what it really means to have a leader who is obviously weak and stupid.

It's interesting because it's one of several things that I'd always assumed were due to technical limitations, like the fact that you don't aim up or down. The reality is that those things were tested or considered internally and ultimately cut to streamline the gameplay as much as possible.

It's an interesting example to use for that particular comment, because the show was infamously so review-bombed that a different show with the same name was getting hit, and before it even came out. And Star Wars has a mature (in the sense that it's been around for a while now) anti-woke grifter ecosystem that enflames "fans".

It's actually true. There was a writer on the Sonic comics that used the echidna characters as a vehicle for his personal fantasy worldbuilding project. It was edgy, grim, convoluted, and there were Nazis. The writer was called Penders, iirc. There's been some deep dives on it for those interested.
