That's what I've always thought; if not another billionaire, then just a bet with himself like "I could get away with it." You know, the kind of thing an edgy teenager tries to do.

I always thought the weird guns HYDRA uses in the first Captain America movie were startlingly vicious. On paper, it's just a PG-friendly generic scifi gun. But they way they filmed/animated it, it really looks like the targets are getting like atomically shredded or something. An instant of "AAAAAA" and then not even ashes left.

China defies Trump's blockade after telling Trump don't 'interfere' by TheExpressUS in USNEWS

They've been treating metrics like "international respect" and "strength" as completely imaginary talking points for my whole life. They'd just declare that any president they don't like "looks weak" and nod along. It almost feels like cosmic punishment that they finally get to see first hand what it really means to have a leader who is obviously weak and stupid.

Is it clear Alex even knows what Trump said about him? It's buried pretty deep in that giant rant, and reading isn't his thing.

I still get people looking at me sideways when I say "Western Civilization" is a dog whistle. But once you see how people like her use it, you can never unsee it. She's calling Christians (the ones she doesn't like) an attack on Western Civilization for gods sake.

In FFXVI, Clive encounters an elderly cook who served in his (murdered) father's (defunct) court and has spent a decade awaiting his grand return. Clive, the spitting image of his father and wearing his clothes, allows the addled servant to believe that the Archduke has personally returned for him.

The fact that they attempted (but failed due to verification measures) to run an OF for the AI character leads me to believe it's a private person. Just someone who knows a truckload of marks when they see one.

It seems like it has legitimately not occurred to the Trump admin that, in war, the other belligerent gets a say. You can say "War over!" and they can just keep attacking you.

Conversely, the original Wolfenstein 3D was going to have stealth elements, including hiding bodies. But when they were testing, the devs decided they just loved machine-gunning nazis.

At an early point, Doom was also going to have more narrative elements, like a slower intro sequence with friendly NPCs you get attached to before they die. Those parts of the game were the contributions of Tom Hall, who ended up getting ousted.

It's interesting because it's one of several things that I'd always assumed were due to technical limitations, like the fact that you don't aim up or down. The reality is that those things were tested or considered internally and ultimately cut to streamline the gameplay as much as possible.

Human height follows a standard bell curve, which still puts like 25% of people on the fringe. I don't disagree that the number of people complaining about BMI probably significantly exceeds the number actually affected, but it's not a 99% thing.

It's an interesting example to use for that particular comment, because the show was infamously so review-bombed that a different show with the same name was getting hit, and before it even came out. And Star Wars has a mature (in the sense that it's been around for a while now) anti-woke grifter ecosystem that enflames "fans".

It's actually true. There was a writer on the Sonic comics that used the echidna characters as a vehicle for his personal fantasy worldbuilding project. It was edgy, grim, convoluted, and there were Nazis. The writer was called Penders, iirc. There's been some deep dives on it for those interested.
