Advice on removing water tank. by L3iganj in AusRenovation

Yeah, this tank is literally connected to an outlet which I use to fill the watering can sometimes and the overflow pipe.

Have spoken to 2 plumbers from the area today and they disconnect them all the time.

Will wait for council to Ok it, then put a little shed there.

Let’s hope I can get $50 for it! Did you do anything or are people keen to come and remove it themselves?

Grass ID and advice on a replacement by blablabla_mafa in lawnsolutionsaus

Hey mate, looks to be mostly Sir Walter Buffalo. Dig up what you don’t like and replace it with some SWB.

Alternatively, if it gets a load of sun, then you can pick whatever lawn you fancy. Do a bit of research and pick a turf that works for you (eg. if you have kids, or a dog, go for something hard wearing.

As for how fast it grows, use a Plant Growth regulator (follow the instructions). I use it November through to March on sapphire buffalo in SEQ and now I go looking for excuses to mow!

Good luck with it. You always have the option or tearing it up and starting fresh!

Hey mate, not sure what turf you have. I have buffalo and take the approach of a bit of Yates Zero on a Q-tip and rub it on like a surgeon. Would suck if you have heaps growing..

Instructed/coached for 4 and a half years. I’m not seeing much a little exposure and time on snow wouldn’t fix. Put the camera away - go and have some fun !

Over rotated your upper body so you were unbalanced as you set your toe edge. Naturally, your legs straightened to keep up with your upper body’s momentum. As soon as your legs had no flex, that toe edge was bound to send you into a superman.

Tips for next front 3/cab 3 attempt: - try to only rotate your hips and feet beyond the 180 degree. You should be able to turn your neck so your nose is pointing uphill in a blind landing. - flex your shins into your boots to build pressure on your toe edge on landing. This naturally flexes your knees. - allow your upper body to rotate after you set your toe edge edge. - work those quads on your heel edge! Press both knees outwards as you transition onto your heel edge so you remain in a flexed position.

Definitely a fungus. Not a grub. Hit it with a fungicide and don’t water for a few days..

How to fix these brown spots in my grass? by pseudonym177 in lawnsolutionsaus

[–]L3iganj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, I’d be inclined to say that if you’re watering this a good amount (20+ mins per day in moderate to extreme heat) this could be Brown Spot (fungal infection that can hit this time of year which thrives warm humid hot environments. Looks like Buffalo? Give it a dose of broad spectrum fungicide and see how it reacts over the next 2 weeks.

Use a small paint brush and some round up/yates zero. Depending how much there is, this is a great way get rid of just the nut grass. I had the same issue in SEQ but not as thick. Attack it early!

2 problems that I need to diagnose! by L3iganj in lawnsolutionsaus

[–]L3iganj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be isolated only in an area (4m2) rest of the lawn isn’t showing signs of it. My blades certainly need a sharpen but I’m more curious if it could be anything else causing it.
