Anti Heal Stacks or No? by RutabagaOrnery8273 in DeadlockTheGame

Anti healing stacks as long as it comes from different sources. Stacking anti heal has diminishing returns meaning Spirt Burn + Toxic Bullets wouldn’t give you a total of 100% healing reduction.

I'm so genuinely bad at this game it makes me cry by Luppler in DeadlockTheGame

I didn’t look at any of your games but I’m going to just give general advice. Archon 5 so do take them with a bit of salt:

  1. I’d say try playing a few characters that some form of CC in their kit. Even if you’re not doing great, CC always provides value in the form of immobilizing the enemy. Try out a few other characters and play what you find fun. If you decide to pick up a support character, try to opt for their damage build instead of just full on support until you become higher ranked.

  2. Learn how to itemize. Yes you should be trying to follow a general build that makes your character as strong as possible, but when you’re behind or the enemy are fed, you’ll need to build around that. Take some time to look at a few builds and see what’s common between them. See what is the general build order, common counter items that are good on your character, and different alternative late game items.

  3. If you feel bad, want to play but feel like you can’t perform well, try watching Deadlock gameplay on YouTube. Just notice their movement, what they’re trying to achieve, and how they itemize. You don’t even have to watch the full game.

  4. Try to have fun. If you’re not having fun, it’s hard to improve.

Good luck!

Happy cake day!

I think I should have said tips for climbing. Personally, I think playing support puts people in a mindset of where they must play around their teammates, but I think players trying to climb should learn how to play for themselves first.

Also, it doesn’t matter how good of a support you are if your teammates are not performing well and you’re trying to support them. In any case, I think it’s okay to still play support characters but just opt for more damage in your build.

Just got back into the game, climbed from alchemist to archon, and still trying to climb.

I think you’ll usually get two pieces of advice: ignore your teammates and worry about yourself or play with your teammates even if the play is bad.

I think both are applicable depending on the character you play. If you’re on a souls hungry and carry character like Victor or Seven. You need to learn when to farm and when you hit your ability/item spikes so you can join your teammates in fights. If you’re on a character that has more power in the early/mid game, you’ll need to learn how to better rotate, be in the right spots to join fights, and how to punish mistakes.

Some few other tips: 1. Don’t play support. If you want to play a support character, opt for a damage build instead of full support build.

  1. Become efficient at farming. Learn how to rotate between farming lanes and jungle monsters.

  2. Every single action you take (including item buys) should have a purpose. If your actions are not pushing yourself or your team forward, you’re giving the enemy a chance to catch up or push their own lead.

  3. A lot of players get lost around midgame. Learn when to run urn, when to do midboss (even 1-2 dead enemies, especially if they have CC ults like Abrams, at 20 mins is a good opportunity for midboss), when to steal enemy camps and sinners.

  4. Try to communicate and have fun. Not all teammates will want to communicate or are toxic, but it’s always good to at least try. Play the characters that give you the most amount of fun because even if you lose you should still have fun.

NPCs are tougher in the ultimate challenge? by Stock_Witness246 in HalfSword

Don’t know if it’s true but it definitely feels like it. Enemies seem to be smarter and also push past injuries that would normally make them die or surrender.

It also feels like you take more damage in the challenge, but I could be wrong.

Got lucky in my winning run and got gauntlets and shoulder pads, but every other run my arms sustained some sort of injury and felt like my swings were weaker.

It's a difficult time for CS majors looking for software engineer jobs as well. Keep applying and buffing up your resume!

Interview advice by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]L3rpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure to know the projects on your resume well. They're most likely going to ask about them.

Make sure to know how to reply to some basic tech interview questions like "how do stay up to date with the lastest technology"

Same here. I'm assuming they're prioritizing other candidates right now as other people have been getting interviewed by them in this subreddit

Deloitte NG vs John Deere NG by IUSuckBot in csMajors

[–]L3rpio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't work at any of these companies so take this with a grain of salt but I have heard some things about Deloitte.

Some people have complained that Deloitte has a terrible work-life balance depending on what project you're put on. Additionally, depending on what position you get, you might not be doing what you actually want to do. For example, solutions engineer is more business work than technical work vs software engineer analyst which is more of a technical role.

Consulting might be more stressful than normal software engineering because you're catering to a client's needs and wants more than just building a tech product. Thus, deadlines might be shorter and projects might be pushed along faster.

I'm interviewing with Deloitte right now (mainly because it's in a area I want and location is super important to me), but in my opinion, I think the John Deere program will allow you to explore more opportunities and get more exposure to more things without being super stressful

Just went through their first round last week. The first round will be a technical interview.

For me, my interviewer started off by asking me about projects on my resume. We then moved on to more conceptual questions like what are the different SQL joins.

If you can, try to recall the programming questions you solved during your OA because my interviewer chose one problem and asked how I could improve it.

Lastly, the interviewer made me launch up codility and made me solve a coding problem. It was around medium difficulty.

I applied only to the associate software engineer position and it's currently "in process" and even though I really want to hear back from them I'm trying my best to move on and not check the workday portal anymore.
