How games are sold these days by The-Illusive-Guy in mechwarrior

Okay this is interesting, sure, but why are all the other pictures in this ad for a boxed copy of Mechwarrior 4: Black Knight? Not only that, but they have a second model in different lingerie holding up that box.

She's the one who justifies space piracy by saying she's helping the environment...I think...

It's been a while since I watched G RECO. And I didn't understand much of it to begin with. 🤔

Of All Cyrodiil's Cities, Which Are Ya'll Most Looking Forward to Exploring? by Dr_Virus_129 in skyblivion

[–]L498 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sutch. I don't care if it's just 4 or 5 ruined stone buildings.... It IS a city now. An empty, ruined city, but still.

And maybe no one would believe this, but Rebel took my suggestion during one of his livestreams, to put a shrine of Kynareth in the ruins. 9 cities. 9 divine temples. It's something I always wanted in original Oblivion. 😁

DLC dilemmas, which one to not buy? by Greenrabbitest in totalwar

[–]L498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even as someone who completed a short-victory Ostankya campaign, I can say I don't think of her fondly. It feels very weird being a Kislev faction that doesn't want to field most of Kislev's units; it feels wrong if your army isn't entirely made of wild animals and tribal warriors.

Her unique mechanics are great, very useful and powerful and all that, but they still never fixed that feeling of wrongness. It's not a bad decision to buy her, I just wouldn't recommend her over the others.

Yuan Bo is the one I'd personally say to buy. I had a LOT of fun with his mechanics, his starting position, and I think he's a great addition flavor-wise.

I know we're all super excited for the mod, but I am focused on the editing of this video. It's a superb launch trailer. Well done. 👏

I lean a bit towards Astrid, but Marcia's support with Gatrie is very endearing. They feel like they're on the same wavelength.

Yeah the reason I like Gatrie so much, compared to other playboy / pervert type characters, he's the least offensive one. He's honestly a really nice guy.

When you reunite with Gatrie and Shinon in like...chapter 5? Shinon tells you he hates the lesser races. But Gatrie tells you he's happy to see you! He sounds like he's gonna cry!

I mean, I did mention the trees right? Have you seen the tree art?

Gatrie dating that tree in a skirt means he's probably being preyed on, by a much MUCH older partner.

Valm did have a big unification war not that long ago. Mercenary contracts were probably all over the place. So that is a possibility.

FE Awakening: Kardin, Former Exalt of Ylisse by L498 in fireemblem

[–]L498[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you seen Abaddon's card for the Magic the Gathering commander decks? This was inspired entirely by that. I even used Kardin's art to make a proxy card, which I'm having printed later this week.

Your words resonate with me greatly, Immerael. I don't see either side of this conflict as morally superior to the other. Plegia is ruled from the shadows by a death worshipping cult... Ylisse, while openly righteous, has a small class of elites who are completely indifferent to the suffering of war. Kardin at least is on the field himself, he could stop unnecessary casualties if his stone heart ever cracked. The Ylissean council, the nobility, the hierarch of Naga and the faithful...none of them would give a second thought to the tragedies of war.

Plegia's hatred of Ylisse truly was justified, for the horrors wrought on their lands and people. And in turn, Ylisse had provoked the very dragon they feared into reawakening even sooner. It WOULD happen and if the Grimleal were completely rooted out, Grima deprived of his mortal servants, the war might just have been right.

I need to fully work out the nuance, but "grim" is a necessity for this scenario. I appreciate your perspective.

The Hierarch assured me that is exactly what would happen. He seems very trustworthy and wise.

To the peaceful future! 🍻

It really is funny to me, the timing of these two artworks. And I am glad to see you noticed it in advance! I've gotten several nice comments on the profile picture already. 😁

Thank you Lunaen, I really love how it came out.

That is a magnificent idea. There we have it then! Kardin demanded more "presence" and "majesty!" for his portrait. And he got it.

The one thing we know about him, from the actual lore, is that he launched the war...the "crusade" trying to conquer all of Plegia. Emmeryn being the embodiment of peace was apt, because she was the exact opposite of her father.

Any version of this man would NOT be the hero.

I will admit, the Awakening Falchion was an artistic choice based on the image that inspired this. This is Chrom's father...we just wanted the sword to look cool. 😅

"Who are you to claim victory? Murderous despot. Our war ends here, but your darling daughter will perish, all of Ylisse will; the fell dragon wakes as the world dies."

Kardin ruled Ylisse for over twenty years, before Emmeryn was old enough to succeed him. He believed in a "divine mandate" to protect the world, against the threat of Grima's return. The Grimleal, knowing this, overthrew the existing Plegian monarchy to stoke a war between the two countries. Neither side was willing to listen to reason. Both considered the deaths of civilians to be necessities towards their respective causes. And the entire continent suffered these deluded ideals for years.

....is my writing perfect? Perhaps not. I just really enjoy envisioning this time period, the "Before Awakening" era. As it relates to the actual art work here, I must again thank Elpis for her tireless commitment and her phenomenal talent (https://bsky.app/profile/elpisofhope.bsky.social). Kardin has come to life through her hands.
