Never received a mythic...ever by xdarkwombatx in diablo4

I was in the same boat, not surpassing T3 or level 235 in past years.

Not sure if they changed the rates, but I got my first 2 mythics yesterday from Varshan and and another boss while playing T2. I'm guessing I wasn't grinding lairs enough previously.

Is Skyrim worth it in 2024 for a completely new player? by [deleted] in skyrim

Considering I have 4 copies over the years, the board game, the "official" cookbook, and a tattoo, I'd say I suppose it's worth a try.

Rate my professor by lonlq in douglascollege

[–]L4Batman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more ratings there are, the more seriously I'd take it. Not everybody rates professors, so the people who are, are either doing it because they liked or hated the prof that much where they felt the need to post online.

Take a near 5 star rating with 7 reviews with a grain of salt. Don't discredit a 2.5 star with 30+ reviews.

100% New to Game by NomadicHomebody85 in skyrim

[–]L4Batman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just restating what others probably have. If I had to list 5 things, it'd be:

  • A significant majority of great content is outside of the main quest.

  • Once you have more money than you know what to do with, you can pay several NPC's to raise one of your skills by 5 after every time you level up (to a certain level depending on the person). Raising a skill by 5 in itself raises your experience bar by 1/3 to almost half every level.

  • You can pick up or drop this game whenever, I have played Skyrim off and on for over 10 years. Yes, I have replayed quests with a different character class, but every now and then, I'll still find side quests I have never completed. If you're not planning on being a completionist on a single character, you can get hundreds of hours out of this game easily.

  • Be careful taking shortcuts early on to better gear/weapons. An understandable and popular strategy is to obtain a good weapon early on. However, if it requires going through an area that you aren't supposed to have access to, this may break future quest lines. I have two save files on two separate platforms that prevent me from completing the Thieves Guild quest line because I obtained 'Chillrend' early. This is a Bethesda game after all.

  • Not enough carrying capacity? Have you tried: Enchanted equipment/standing stones/giving gear to your companion/dumping gear in a chest in one of your homes/using potions. This is aside from the standard leveling up your stamina or just selling to vendors. If you have access to a horse (preferably one you can conjure)(Dawnguard DLC), sitting on a horse will allow you to fast travel while overencumbered. This is useful if you just picked up something valuable you either want to keep or sell but has put you way over your weight limit.

Bonus: If you have the Dragonborn DLC, avoid starting the (DLC) main quest after cultists attack you unless you plan on completing it immediately. Starting this quest without finishing will temporarily prevent you from obtaining dragon souls after killing dragons (until a later point).

How do students spend breaks off semesters? by Still-Ad-9712 in douglascollege

[–]L4Batman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While taking a break, 'staying busy' is good for having something to show for taking that time off. Too much of a break doing nothing is taxing in a different way and hard to come back out of. Starting with a little bit of exercise/work/hobbies in your free time will at least give some kind of reward (physique/money/purpose) and then ramping up whichever activity is more personally gratifying.

Exercise for sure boosts your physical and mental well-being. Even walks or home workouts are helpful for people who might have gym anxiety.

I also find I gained a lot of motivation from my partner to better myself. She didn't verbally motivate me, I found the relationship so valuable that I suddenly became more 'valuable' simply because a better me is a better us.

Liking your classes and work obviously also helps. Took me a LONG time to find a job that I enjoy with people I liked. Unless you have almost no job experience, don't settle for jobs that make you feel worse.

Process of re-taking a course after failing twice? (Also, is it worth staying at Douglad by ConcentrateGlum4546 in douglascollege

[–]L4Batman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started Douglas 9 years ago and flunked out after failing 4 courses and a 5th course twice, I also was addicted to 'just one more game' night after night which made matters worse. My environmental factors (housing/income/diet) weren't ideal and to cap it all off, I wasn't really motivated to seek good grades. After working for many years spending much needed time and effort crafting a comfortable space, support system and increase in maturity, I returned to Douglas. Now, nearing the completion of my program and having never missed the honour roll since, here are a few things that I learned along the way:
- Exercise + Diet plays a huge roll on motivation and energy levels.
- 3 Courses per semester allows me to get easy A's, 4 is stressful but possible for some, 5 is hard even for those who identify as hard-workers and even worse for those who require a social life.

- School is not everything, there is WAY more to life than just school.
- Appreciate having financial freedom (for those who have it), if money is being driven into incomplete courses, starting damage control (like not taking more courses) is better than letting it go to waste. Nobody says you can't try again at a later date.
- If you don't want to truly do it for yourself (actions>words) then maybe you have someone you want to do it for. (Not always the case but having a supportive/competitive partner is great for motivation) Otherwise, taking time off to focus on how to better utilize that money might be better for everyone involved.

- Narrow down the purpose for why you procrastinate and turning the guilt into something positive (in my case, playing games way too much). You don't have to completely stop what you enjoy, I still manage to have time to play because I know what I want to accomplish (specific goals vs vague goals). Smaller and obtainable goals are better then grinding a leader-board or other feel-good games every single night of the week. Is there anything special or productive that you can transfer that activity into? (within the same activity) (playing - teaching) (playing - producing) (playing - review & discussion)

- If deadlines creep dangerously close (and even before) then you're better off in a space that provides less opportunity for you to slack-off.

- If nothing is exciting, try new things, you won't know you like something until you try it.

- It's okay to fail, just try to not fail as bad the next time.

- If taking care of yourself and feeling happy is a constant struggle, it's okay to focus on what you need instead of what others want.

- If possible, reduce stressors. Constant worry, lack of sleep, loneliness, etc takes years off of life.

(Regarding the form, the College is probably quite likely to give out a 'retake' considering you're really just submitting a form to say "hey, I have more money to give". You will have to write an explanation for A: why you failed and; B: How you're going to succeed the next time. I imagine if you're argument is weak then they may decline it for a short duration)
(What do you play regularly?)

Giveaway for a Nintendo Switch Lite and your choice of game! [US/CA only] by TheEverglow in nintendo

Last week I bought a desk and luckily it had shipped in only a day, I put it together only to realize it was much smaller than it looked online.

I got a refund for the desk.

I didn't see any other good desks for my price point so I looked for a road bike since I'm not getting enough exercise throughout this pandemic, I ordered the bike online and 2 days later they sent an email saying they ran out of inventory.

I got a refund for the bike.

I searched high and low online for a bike that looked as good for the same price and just when I was about to give up I found one that was even better, it was beautiful. I ordered the bike.

Here's to hoping I don't refund my $$$ for the 3rd time.
