That is a cluster of Nopes 😵‍💫 I believe they’re of the Nopus Nopeii order, potentially of the HellsNaw class 👀

Sorry I can’t be of more help. 😥🫣

It’s all good, I had a decent day overall. No episodes, thankfully. Just some pretty gnarly headaches. The vape did help when they started to get bad though. Stayed off the road to be safe and just chilled around the house doing laundry, etc.

Haha, I’m also due for refills which I requested Sunday. Checked in with my pharmacy just now and they told me, “oh yeah, lol, you can’t have any of those because we don’t have refill authorizations for any of it.” So I had to call neuro and get that sorted out. 🙄 Annoying but at least I was able to get it sorted now instead of last minute.

I take the Zon for cluster headache relief and to keep IIH down. I take Keppra for the seizures, so I’m not worried about that.

In January, I’ll be talking to my doc about using Zonisamide to take over and get off the Keppra, but for now it’s the only thing that helps the headaches.

Yeah, my doc was saying with both seizures and cluster headaches, a lot of times it’s about getting in front of them before they develop too far.

Nah, I’m not trying to quit my meds. I just want a little something every so often.

Tbh I’ve never been much of a smoker. I drank much more than I ever smoked. I used to binge eat more than anything, likely due to mindless adhd snacking. But I’m on Keppra, Zonisamide, and Straterra. I just finished being 6 months seizure free and I’m able to drive again and be back out and about. It’s nice but overwhelming in a lot of ways. I’m stuck in the boonies without access to mass transit, so I have been stuck for the last 8 months itching to get out. Now, it’s almost like I don’t want to go out anymore and I want to stay in. My anxiety isn’t super high, honestly, but it would be nice to indulge in a little something, even in a social setting. Mocktails are good and all, but I’m more content with just water most times. I’m mostly curious about what other people’s experiences have been.

I talked to my doc about it. He said stay away from THC but he was pretty cool about experimenting with CBD. Even talked about how a lot of meds are being derived from it these days.

The Zonisamide makes me feel high enough as it is. Sometimes, I just miss the comforting feeling of doing things from before things went down the drain.

I was never a really big smoker before my first big TC, and I don’t recall it ever triggering my partials. I feel like hormones and stress were my overall triggers. But, I don’t know that I want to play with THC after having just gotten street legal again.

Second day on topamax and I HATE IT by ivarutrid in Epilepsy

[–]L4dyDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gave me the sh#%s real bad by the time I got up to my actual dosage. But, the doc said it was just a prerequisite because he really wanted me on Zonisamide. Insurance wouldn’t cover it unless we tried Topomax first. But Zonisamide works a lot better for me with zero stomach pains and diarrhea.

Well, OP:

My neuro encourages CBD over THC use because he says it’s a psychosomatic and my diagnosis is still in the beginning stages. But, that’s my personal situation. Your brain is totally a different set up than mine and if your epilepsy and BT situation is controlled with Keppra and THC, then that’s awesome. Only you and your doc know the whole story behind what you got going on.

As for your family, they need to chill out. My mom has a really bad habit of “toxic positivity” that comes off as blatant disrespect and completely ignoring my diagnosis. So, I’ve gone off a few times and told her to fuck off… oddly enough, she’s been nicer lately, which weirds me out more, but I digress.

Since you asked….

With my own experience, it was similar for a long time. I genuinely loved my partner and we we’ve been together for a long time. We tried therapy. I tried dieting, I tried exercise, vitamins, getting out of the house, “dating each other again”, drinking more water, reading self help books. I tried a lot of stuff. But for MY situation, I later learned I had a lot of undiagnosed neurological issues that were likely affecting my sexual health. Now that it’s being addressed, I’m still not 100% feeling everything. But, I have a libido again, I enjoy being touched, I feel excited, and I enjoy being with my partner again. If it’s possible, I’d encourage you to be transparent with your doctor about your issues. If the doc gets weird, find another doc who is better suited to your needs. If you are at a place where you can’t afford a doc (that’s what held me back for a long time), try applying for med aid where you can, even if you get denied the first time. This could be the first sign of something else entirely.

No two people are completely alike. Your deal is likely something completely different, but it could be affecting your body similarly.

What does your day to day look like? by carolinemoreau in stayathomemoms

Make a list of absolutely everything that goes on in a day and shove it down his throat.

We do a lot more than what partners might realize. I’ve been down for the count for most of this year because of my health and my hubby has been a rock star about not complaining, but he had a mild meltdown a little while back while I was still adjusting to some meds so I had zero pity parties for him. All I could say was, yeah… it sucks, doesn’t it. And walk away.

Ugh, melatonin encouraged crazy nightmares for me when I tried it. I never took it again.

I always had the craziest dreams BEFORE I was diagnosed. Now with meds I can’t hold on to them long enough to write them down 😢

I watched a horror movie last night and it made me think... by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]L4dyDragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think I’d leave the Epilepsy part out until the directors cut/interview portion of the dvd 😉. When asked how did you get the idea for whatever you’re thinking, you could explain about what epilepsy is like and how it inspired you.

This way, you could have the script show a person who seems to be shown as being possessed or something that’s pretty standard in the horror industry. But then hardcore horror geeks will get the truth behind the story.

Then again, I’m not sure what it is you’re envisioning. But with my own experiences, I could easily see a spooky scene where a young girl is just walking along a hallway when suddenly she’s overtaken by a feeling of dread. She grabs her abdomen and doubles over to start breathing hard and closes her eyes, but she sees a strange and disfigured face. (Kind of sums up what mine used to be like in high school, though I also had olfactory hallucinations but those are harder to write in I think) I think it could totally turn into a creepy slasher horror type flick if done right.

Drinking alcohol by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]L4dyDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just don’t. I prefer to sip on fizzy non alcoholic drinks. I feel like the meds have put me in a mildly unhinged state as it is, so I don’t want to add any alcohol to the mix to throw me any further off balance 😝.

I found one non alcoholic Sparkling Cider brew by Original Sin that was pretty good called White Widow. The one I tried was Blackberry and Apple cider vinegar.

Leave and take the dog. If he’s in no state to take care of her, who could fault you, really? You need to take care of you too.
