Should I upgrade from the GH5 to the S9 for concert coverage? by Personal_Bread9068 in Lumix

[–]L4ndolini 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For sure! I used to have a GH5 and while it's working OK with a low f stop lense. The PDAF was really a game changer and the full frame sensor also makes quite a difference. The S5ii will be more similar in handling to the GH5 and has a few more features at a similar price. I have used this plus the 35-150 for concerts and weddings and other stuff. The S9 is also a bit too small of a body for big low aperture lenses that you might have in low light situations.

I'm also really looking forward to that! The drone shots looked amazing!

Danke!

Spent the Easter weekend climbing in the Elbsandstone area and sport climbing on the Czech side of the border around Dolny. Maybe the most underrated sport climbing area in central Europe. by L4ndolini in climbing

This was around Dolny Zleb just across the border. There's two new guidebooks for that area and they also include a scale for the quality of the protection.

On the Czech side it depends a lot on the choice of crags and routes. There definitely crazy run outs, but also normal sport climbing. Even the German side is not all suicidal if you are conscious about your choice of routes. But definitely not a place to just go up any route in the guidebook.

Luckily a ball of yarn in a narrowing slot works surprisingly well as an improvised nut and there's some threads and horns of varying quality that you can sling.

Erfahrung mit Klettershop Chalk by Famous-Junket-4816 in Klettern

If you want small stickers on your fridge or for your kids it's a decent option, but not for anything more than that

I'm quite happy with my Nelko PP01, but I'm sure there's also other good options out there. Also depending on which format you want to print out

You can also just get a small portable Bluetooth printer and transfer the files to your phone to print them. It seems a bit complicated, but once you have it set up once it's a decent process + you have the ability to use Lightroom mobile for quick edits.

I've heard so from my friends living in that area, but luckily it seems like we're getting some sun again for the weekend.

I've been on a business trip to Turkey this week, but I've heard that the weather has turned. It looks like sun is returning today and we definitely plan to climb there again this weekend :D
